DIED - At the home of his father in this county, from spinal meningitis, on Monday, March 2, 1908, Melvin Stecker, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Stecker, age 17 years, 4 months and 24 days. He was born in Iowa and went with his parents from that state to South Dakota where they resided till recently when they moved to Phillips County, Colorado. He had been to a neighbor’s on horseback and when he returned complained of not being well and soon became unconscious and never regained consciousness.

 

 The funeral was conducted from the Baptist church in Holyoke, Rev. Jenkins preaching the sermon and the body was laid in the Holyoke Cemetery. The family has the sympathy of all in their sorrow.
