M. MILDENBERGER RITES DECEMBER 7 IN STERLING

 

Word has been received that Mrs. Mary Claymon Mildenberger passed away Sunday, December 3, at Logan County Hospital, Sterling.

 

Rosary service was held yesterday (Wednesday) evening at the Walters-Chaney Funeral home.

 

Requiem mass will be held today (Thursday) at 10:30 a.m. at the Catholic Church in Sterling.

 

Interment will be in Holyoke Memorial park.

 

Mrs. Mildenberger is a sister of Mrs. Viola Brase and Ralph Ewegen, Amherst.

M. MILDENBERGER RITES DECEMBER 7

 

Mass of the Resurrection was celebrated Thursday, December 7, 1972, from St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Sterling, for Mrs. Mary Claymon Mildenberger, who passed away December 3, at Logan County Hospital, after suffering a severe stroke December 2, at her home in Sterling.

 

Rosary service was conducted Wednesday evening, December 6, at the Walters-Chaney Funeral Home.

 

Mary Mildenberger, was born October 20, 1903, in Crete, Nebraska, the daughter of Rudolph and Josephine Hier Ewegen, and came to their home in Amherst in 1911, with her parents and baby brother, Ralph. Mr. Ewegen had moved to Amherst in 1910 and prepared the home place for the family.

 

She married Arthur Claymon in 1921 and to this union one son was born. They lived in the Amherst-Holyoke area until moving to Ogallala, Nebraska in 1946, where they engaged in farming and business. In 1959 they moved to the Iliff-Sterling area.

 

She married Peter J. Mildenberger on December 24, 1968, in Sterling.

 

Mrs. Mildenberger was a member of St. Anthony's church, the Altar and Rosary society and the Royal Neighbors. Her family, home, yard and flowers were her pride and joy.

 

She was preceded in death by her father in 1946; one granddaughter Patsy in 1956; Arthur Claymon and mother in 1962; a brother-in-law Arnold Brase in 1969, and a sister Ruth Harned in 1970.

 

She is survived by her husband P.J. Mildenberger; a son Alvin Claymon, four granddaughters, Sharlene, Kathy, Nancy and Glenda Mills; a great grandson Darren Mills, all of North Platte, Nebraska; two brothers, Ralph Ewegen, Amherst, John Ewegen, Briggsdale; a sister, Mrs. Viola Brase, Amherst, and many nieces, nephews and friends.
