Margaret Louise Gulley, 84, of Holyoke died Friday, August 13, 2004 at Melissa Memorial Hospital.

 

She was born June 19, 1920 at Peetz to Richard and Leta (Brooks) Oppie.

 

Margaret married Lyle Wettstein in April 1938. From this union five children were born. She later married Ernest A. Gulley. They had one son.

 

During her life she worked as a waitress, in a luggage factory and for Russell Stover Candies.  She enjoyed crocheting and playing bingo until her eyesight failed.

 

She is survived by her children Thelma Hackney of Holyoke, Velma Wettstein of Holyoke, Frances Muths and her husband Jim of Holyoke, Gene Wettstein of Mountain View, Wyoming and David Gulley and his wife Lori of Holyoke; sisters Fern Shephard of Lincoln, Nebraska, Lillian Weyand of Las Vegas, Nevada and Mary Lou Cunningham of Roy, Utah; brother Cecil Oppie La Porte and Leroy Oppie of Grand Junction; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

 

Funeral services were held Wednesday, August 18 at 2 p.m. at the First United Methodist Church of Holyoke with Rev. Darrell Dennis officiating.

 

Interment will follow at Holyoke Memorial Park in Holyoke.
