JENNIE CONKLIN RITES HELD HERE; FORMER RESIDENT
Funeral services for Mrs. Jennie S. Conklin of Denver, who lived at Holyoke for many years, were conducted at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 2, at the Holyoke Christian Church.
James Dobyns, minister of the Christian Church, officiated at the service. Interment was at Holyoke Memorial Park, with the Capitol Mortuary of Denver in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Conklin, who was 80 years of age, passed away Monday, May 30, at St. Joseph Hospital in Denver following an extended illness.
A native of North Bend, Nebraska, Jennie Helland Conklin was born* January 19, 1886. She was united in marriage to John Harvey Conklin in Holyoke on December 8, 1904.
Mr. and Mrs. Conklin lived on a farm southeast of Holyoke, which Mr. Conklin had homesteaded, until 1915 and then moved to Holyoke. They made their home for a number of years in what is now the Ray E. Crosby home.
Mr. Conklin, who followed the carpenter trade for many years, passed away on August 8, 1938. A few years after her husband’s death Mrs. Conklin moved to Denver. She had made her home with her children most of the time since then.
Survivors include two daughters, Lena, Mrs. Pat Benson, and Frances, Mrs. Joe Griffith, both of Denver; one brother, Ralph Helland, Berkley, Michigan; two sisters, Ethel E. Helland and Mrs. Rolena Bunch, both of Englewood, Colorado; three grandchildren; six great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
One daughter, Pauline, Mrs. Ray C. Miell, preceded Mrs. Conklin in death.
