JAMES LEN BALDERSON
James Len Balderson of Amherst was born October 27, 1912 in Cortland, NE to Perl Leroy and Lulu A. [Fryrear] Balderson. He died March 3, 1997 in Ogallala, NE at the age of 84.
Len moved to the Amherst area in the mid 1920s. He attended school in Amherst. He later farmed with his father for many years and continued on the family farm after his father's death until just this past year.
He loved to hunt and fish and did his own taxidermy. Len owned a large collection of Indian arrowheads and enjoyed searching for them. He was also a violinist and played for local dances.
Balderson was an active member of Holyoke United Methodist Church.
Preceding him in death were his parents, twin brother William Glen Balderson and nephew Bloyce Balderson.
Survivors include sister Dorothy Renter and her husband Bill and several nieces and nephews.
Services were scheduled for Thursday, March 6, 1997 at Holyoke United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Pedotto officiating. Inurnment will be in Holyoke Memorial Park.
