Harold Heimer, 89, died Saturday, August 12, 2006 in Holyoke. Harold was born on June 18, 1917 to Walter F. and Blanche Roos Heimer in Hebron, Nebraska. He moved to Holyoke with his parents in 1919.
He attended Pleasant Prairie School and graduated from Holyoke High School. During his high school years he started farming with his father.
Harold married Velva Brethouwer on July 30, 1939. Harold and Velva had four sons, Norman, Dale, Wayne and Lloyd.
Harold and Velva moved into Holyoke after Harold had health problems in 1980 and Harold quit farming in 1999.
Harold was a lifetime member of the First Christian Church in Holyoke.
Harold is preceded in death by his brother Glenn, his sister Bernice and his son Lloyd.
Harold is survived by his wife Velva; sons, Norman and wife, Myrna of Colorado Springs, Dale and wife Janet of McCook, Nebraska, Wayne and wife Karen of Fairbanks, Alaska; daughter-in-law, Margaret Nickell of Greeley; 11 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services were Wednesday, August 16, 2006 at First Christian Church with Pastor Jim Blake assisted by Gerald Parriott officiating.
