D.D. FINCH DIED FROM HEART FAILURE

 

D.D. Finch, a well-known citizen of Haxtun, died at his home early Monday morning. Death was caused from heart failure.

 

On Monday morning he went out to the barn to perform his chore duties and, not coming in as soon as she thought he should, Mrs. Finch went out to the barn and found him lying unconscious. He was brought to the house and a doctor summoned. He died within a short time without regaining consciousness. Mr. Finch homesteaded near Grant, Nebraska about forty years ago, coming from Iowa. He has lived in the Haxtun community the past 32 years. At the time of his death he was 65 years of age.

 

He had served the town of Haxtun as one of its trustees. He held the position of vice president and director of the Haxtun State Bank at the time of his death. He was also vice president of the Drake Mercantile Company, a corporation that one time conducted a general mercantile business in Haxtun.

 

Mr. Finch leaves to mourn his departure his wife, Mrs. Clara Finch, one sister of Illinois, one of Iowa, and one in South Dakota, one brother, Ed, of Haxtun, and two brothers on the west coast. Funeral services will be held this afternoon.
