FUNERAL SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. ARTHUR FALK
Mrs. Arthur Falk, who had been in failing health for the past two months, passed away at the Holyoke Hospital at 8:30 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Falk was born at Loomis, Nebraska September 1, 1892. Coming to Colorado from Sumner, Nebraska in 1913, she made her home in the Fairfield Community.
She was married to Arthur Falk of Haxtun March 5, 1913.
She attended church from infancy, being confirmed at the Moses Hill Swedish Church near Loomis and was a member of the Fairfield Covenant Church. She later transferred to the Methodist Church in Holyoke.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Miss Fern Falk and Mrs. John Orcutt. Two grandsons and three sisters.
Funeral service was held Monday afternoon at the Methodist Church, Rev. Haruf gave the sermon. Pallbearers were J.N. Skold, John T. Anderson, Ray E. Crosby, H.J. Hoppler, S.J. Meakins and D.F. Sagehorn. Interment was in the Holyoke Cemetery.
OBITUARY
Esther Sophia Holm, daughter of George and Augusta Holm, was born September 1st, 1892 at Loomis, Nebraska. She passed away at the Holyoke Hospital on October 31st, 1946 following two months of hospitalization for an illness that proved fatal.
She was united in marriage to Arthur Falk of Haxtun, Colorado, formerly of Sumner, Nebraska, on March 5, 1913 and they made their first home in the Fairfield community near Haxtun. To them were born three children: Fern Augusta, Emery Dale, who preceded her in death in his infancy, and Irene Myrtis. Not only did she always tirelessly provide for her family's physical comforts, but she maintained a cheerful and happy attitude that brought about a happy home life and sense of family unity for her husband and children.
Mrs. Falk from early infancy attended church - being baptized and confirmed at the Moses Hill Swedish Covenant Church near Loomis. She was a member of the Fairfield Covenant Church for many years and had her membership transferred to the Methodist Church in Holyoke in recent years after she and her husband moved to Holyoke to make their home. She attended her church regularly, enjoying and appreciating the Sunday morning services and also the other activities sponsored by the church.
Mrs. Falk is survived by her husband and her two daughters, Fern Falk and Mrs. John P. Orcutt and her husband; two grandsons, John Arthur Orcutt and James Craig Orcutt; three sisters, Mrs. Albert Holmquist of Bertrand, Nebraska, Mrs. Fingal Thorell of Loomis, Nebraska, and Mrs. Kenneth Cramer of Smithfield, Nebraska; five brothers, John and Arthur Holm of Kerkoven, Minnesota, Frank of Omaha, Nebraska; Alfred of Bertrand, Nebraska, and Oscar of Loomis, Nebraska. She will be sadly missed by these close relatives and the number of friends she has made during her lifetime by her kindness and hospitality.
