Dola Irene Brunken Ahnstedt

Dola Irene Ahnstedt, age 62, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 1993 at the Swedish Medical Center in Englewood.

 

Funeral services were held March 27 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Haxtun with Rev. Jerry Harms officiating. Burial followed in the Haxtun Cemetery with Thompson Mortuary of Haxtun handling arrangements.

 

She was born the daughter of John and Hazel Plog Brunken on October 18, 1930 in Logan County at the farm home of Oliver and Vesta Lambert near Dailey. She attended school in Haxtun.

 

She was baptized in the Lutheran Church and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Haxtun.

 

Dola married Glen Ahnstedt. They were the parents of two children Sonja and Eddie. Glen passed away in 1973.

 

Dola lived in Idaho. Washington, Oregon and California before moving back to the Haxtun-Fleming area in 1954. She moved to Aurora in 1969 and had lived there since that time.

 

She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church in Aurora.

 

Survivors include her son Eddie Ahnstedt and wife Kathi of California; daughter Sonja Bell and husband Roc of Julesburg; sister Zelma Smith and husband Richard of Sterling; six grandchildren Nathan, Aaron, Heather and Cassie Bell and Michelle and Adriane Ahnstedt and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents.
