PAOLI LADY DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS

Mrs. Clara Katherine Harms, age 55 years, died early Monday morning in the hospital at Holyoke, following an illness of four years. Mrs. Harms, who resided in Phillips County for five years, had been confined to the hospital for one week.

Born September 22, 1894, in Sterling, Nebraska, Mrs. Harms was the daughter of August and Alma Thiemans Biesemeier. She lived in Sterling, Nebraska most of her life, going to the Paoli community in 1945. On August 27, 1921, Miss Biesemeier married Gustave Harms. The couple resided one mile east of Paoli.

Mrs. Harms was a member of the Methodist church.

Surviving Mrs. Harms are her husband, Gustave Harms of Paoli, and two sons, Chester Harms of Haxtun and Harold Harms of Paoli.

Services were held at 2:00 o'clock Wednesday afternoon, April 5, at Paoli Trinity Methodist church. Burial was made at the Holyoke cemetery.

FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. CLARA HARMS AT PAOLI WEDNESDAY

Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon of last week from the Paoli Methodist church for Clara Katherine Harms, age 55, of Paoli, who passed away Monday in the Phillips County Hospital at Holyoke following an illness of four years.

Clara Katherine Biesemeier, daughter of August and Alma Biesemeier, was born near Sterling, Nebraska, September 22, 1894, and passed away at the Holyoke hospital in Colorado, on April 3, 1950, at the age of 55 years, 5 months and 13 days.

She grew to young womanhood in the Hopewell community in Nebraska, where she was married to Gustave Harms on August 24, 1921. To this union two sons were born, Chester and Harold. She taught school at both Hopewell and Paoli.

Clara, as she was known to her friends, was baptized in the Hopewell Methodist church, where she was an active member until she moved to Colorado with her husband in 1945.

She had been an active member of the Paoli Methodist church for the past five years, serving as a Sunday school teacher, a W.S.C.S. worker and a member of the official board. She also served in these capacities at the Hopewell church.

She leaves to mourn, her husband, Gustave Harms, Paoli; two sons, Chester and Harold, also of Paoli; one granddaughter and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Clara will long be remembered by her friends as one who was always concerned with the cares and needs of others. She loved to visit the sick and care for the needy. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother.

Burial was made in the Holyoke Memorial Park.
