Funeral services were held Thursday, October 21, 1976, from St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst, for Clara Alvina G. Chancellor, 72, who passed away Sunday, October 17, at Melissa Memorial Hospital, Holyoke.
Rev. Theo Schauland officiated at the services. Interment was in the Amherst Cemetery. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Clara Chancellor was born October 12, 1904, to Mr. and Mrs. William Rehfeld in Pierce County, Nebraska. Most of her life was spent in and around Amherst. She was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and the church’s ladies aid.
Clara was united in marriage to Forrest E. Chancellor on October 27, 1945 in Denver. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Ralph Brinkema, who died in 1937; a sister, Beata Klatka, and her parents.
She is survived by her husband Forrest Chancellor; two daughters, Viola King, Holyoke and Alvina Spaulding, Denver; four brothers, Arthur Rehfeld, Hans Rehfeld, Harold Rehfeld and Gerald Rehfeld, all of Denver; a sister Helen McClain, Cheyenne, Wyoming; eight grandchildren; five great grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Amherst, on Friday, June 9, 1978, for Forrest E. Chancellor, who passed away June 7, at Melissa Memorial Hospital in Holyoke.
Pastor Gerald Werth, minister of the church, officiated at the services. Interment was in St. Paul’s Cemetery at Amherst. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
Forrest was born in Newtownville, Indiana, on October 11, 1893. He came to Amherst, Colorado after his marriage to Clara (Rehfeld) Brinkema in 1945. Mrs. Chancellor passed away on October 17, 1976.
He spent his life working as a carpenter, also, working with and raising rabbits in his spare time. He lived the last two years at Sheridan Manor Nursing Home.
He is survived by a son, B.E. Chancellor, Tampa, Florida; a daughter, Shirley Cooper, Greenville, South Carolina; two step-daughters, Mrs. Milton (Viola) King, Holyoke and Mrs. F.E. Spaulding, Denver; two sisters; eight step-grandchildren and a host of friends.
