BLANCHE HEIMER RITES JANUARY 16

 

Funeral services were held Friday, January 16, 1976, from the First Christian church in Holyoke for Blanche E. Heimer, 90, who passed away January 13, at Melissa Memorial Hospital.

 

Blanche Ethel Roos Heimer was born October 30, 1885, the daughter of William and Sarah Roos, at Amherst, Buffalo County, Nebraska.

 

Blanche attended school in Buffalo County, and then moved with the family to Hebron, Nebraska, as a young woman. It was here that she met Walter F. Heimer and they were married February 21, 1906.

 

They lived in Hebron, until March 1919 when the family which now had grown to include two sons, and one daughter moved to Holyoke. The family home was southwest of town where Walter was engaged in farming. They lived on the farm until Walter's death in 1958 at which time Blanche moved into town. The last seven years of her life were spent in Sheridan Manor Nursing Home.

 

Blanche became a Christian at an early age, and was a faithful member of the Holyoke Christian church. She loved music and served the Liberty Ridge church near Hebron as organist. She was a former member of the Pleasant Prairie and Jolly Dozen clubs.

 

Mrs. Heimer was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F., her parents, two brothers, and one sister.

 

She is survived by her children, Glenn A. Mrs. Bernice Ferguson, and Harold B., all of Holyoke, ten grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; one niece, Letha Missling of Windom, Minnesota, and a host of friends.
