Funeral services were held Tuesday, February 29, 1972, from the United Methodist Church, Lamar, Nebraska for Luther M. Beam, who passed away February 26, 1972. Rev. Richard Deems officiated at the services. Interment was in Pleasant Valley Cemetery. Thompson Mortuary was in charge of arrangements.
The son of James Addison and Martha Jane Besse Beam, he was born February 27, 1904, at Hayes Center, Nebraska. He was raised in the Hayes Center community.
May 28, 1932 he was united in marriage to Mabel Jeffries at North Platte, Nebraska. The couple remained in the Hayes Center community until 1941 when they moved to the Holyoke community. They adopted a three week old baby girl in 1948,
Mr. Beam was engaged in farming activities during his lifetime. He was a member of the Lamar Trinity Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Guy, killed in WW I; three sisters, Mrs. Burt Jaycox in 1937, Mrs. Charlie Adrian in 1960, and Mrs. Frank Adrian, in 1961.
He is survived by his wife, Mabel; a daughter, Mrs. Danny Beard, Holyoke; a granddaughter, Alisa; two brothers, Roy, Madrid, Iowa, and Edward, Iliff, and many other relatives and friends.
