 Anna Wilhelmina "Minnie" Peterson Lydin

On Monday, March 17, the Fairfield community was saddened by news of the death of one of the most beloved members of that section. Mrs. C.A. Lydin, who passed away at her home thirteen miles northeast of Haxtun, death following an attack of the influenza. Anna Wilhamina Peterson was born on December 22, 1879, at Lockport, Illinois, her parents being of Swedish ancestry.

On the 1st of July, 1904, at Denver, she was married to C.A. Lydin. Five children were the result of this union, and these young lives are robbed of her love and care by the untimely demise of the mother. Besides the five children, the husband, three brothers and three sisters are left to mourn her loss. At the time of her death she was 39 years, 2 months and 25 days of age, an age at which her noble spirit had reached the height of its power for good to family and neighbors.

Services were held at her home at Fairfield, Rev. B.O. Johnson of the Mission Friends church of Holdrege, Nebraska, a live-long friend of the family, coming here to conduct the services. The remains were prepared for burial by Mortician Harry B. Radford of Haxtun, and were laid at rest in the Fairfield cemetery.

Services were scheduled for Thursday, April 11, 1996 at the Fairfield Covenant Church with Rev. Dale Bishop officiating. Burial was to follow in the Fairfield Cemetery.
