Here is the obituary from the Norfolk Sunday News, Norfolk, Nebraska, dated
24 April 1892:
Mrs. Catherine Schwertfeger, mother of Ernst Schwertfeger and Mrs. F. Pasewalk,
of this city, died at the home of the latter at 12:35 this morning from the
general debility incident to old age. Deceased was born February 14, 1808 in
Schreitstaken, near Coslin, Germany. She came to America eighteen years ago and
located in Norfolk, her husband having died previous to her emigration. Besides
the two named above, her surviving children are Mary Schwertfeger, Mrs. Wm. Zutz,
August Shoemaker and Herman Shoemaker. The funeral will take place from F.
Pasewalk's residence at 3 o'clock tomorrow, the services being conducted at St.
Paul's Lutheran church by Rev. M.H. Pankow.
