(Marks) Remke. ------------------------------------------------------------------ 1969 Pasco Washington Mrs. Dora Mitchell, 95 on Tuesday, shared her birthday celebration and cake with her daughter-in-law, Mrs. C. L. Mitchell, who has the same birth date, at a party at Visa Vistavue Home where she now resides. She was born March 18, 1874, in Chesterfield County, Ill., and when a child came to Nebraska by covered wagon. She married Adolph C. Mitchell Feb. 15, 1896, at Huntley, Neb., and in December, 1902, they left Huntley for Newport. They farmed at Diamond Lake for more than 25 years, then at Half Moon Prairie near Deer Lake, until retirement when they moved to Spokane. After her husband's death in 1955, Mrs. Mitchell moved to Richland to be with her sons, Clarence E. and Arthur F., General Electric Co. retirees. Family members, friends at Vistavue, and the nursing staff joined in the celebration. Remke of Huntley, Nebraska while singing in the choir at Evanston
Evangelical United Brethren Church and were married March 9, 1941 and
settled on Gilpin Street in south Denver. They moved to Amarillo, Texas
for 20 years before returning to Colorado in 1969. |
