Mrs. Christina Moritz, 79, a resident of the city for 16 years, died at 5:20 o’clock Friday morning at her home, 4212 M street. Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Ida Asmus of Friend, Mrs. Bertha Whited of Bennet, Mrs. Clara Hagensick of O’Neill, and Mrs. Rose Bauer of Lincoln; two brothers, William Roth of Warden, Wash., and Peter Roth of Lincoln; 24 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. | Gottlieb P. Moritz, 38, farmer who lived 12 miles northwest of Lincoln, died at his home at 12:10 o’clock Wednesday morning, following an illness of several years. He had lived near Lincoln all his life. Surviving Mr. Moritz are his wife, Mabel; one daughter, Verna, and one son, Francis, all at home; his mother Mrs. Christina Moritz of Lincoln; and four sisters, Mrs. John Asmus of Dorchester, Mrs. Bertha Whited of Palmyra. Children--Some of It . in Trust: ' Petition for probate of the will of John Bauer was filed in the county court Thursday by Paul K. H. Bauer, a BOD. The will appoints the Lincoln Trust company to have charge of certain property in the city for ten years and provides that every three months the income from this property shall be paid one fourth to the -widow, Mary Bauer, and the other three fourths distributed to the children John A. Bauer, Gertrude Moser, Paul H. K. Bauer, Rosina Guttler, share and share alike. At the end of ten years the property may be sold if it is seen fit and the distribution made on the same basis of as above. It is provided that John A Bauer, a. son, shall have ten acres in Lancaster county, Paul K. twelve acres. Gertrude Moser, fifteen acres, Rosina Cuttler of Salt Lake City," fifteen acres, the widow, twenty-eight acres. He died Wednesday, Dec. 19, 2012, at his home. Services were held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in North Fort Myers with Pastor Jerry Lawson officiating. Roy was born in Sterling, Neb., on November 10, 1923, and moved to Tekamah, Neb., with his family in 1937. He was a 1941 graduate of Tekamah High School and attended Midland College in Fremont, Neb., for two years before graduating from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln with a BA degree in biology, MS in agronomy and a PhD in chemistry. He served in the United States Navy for three years as a sonar man aboard the USS Hailey, a Fletcher class destroyer patrolling much of the south Pacific during World War II. Roy worked as a Market Development representative for the United States Steel Corporation for over 30 years. Preceding him in death were his wife, Joan in 1993; second wife, Ann in 2011; parents, Thomas and Mathilda Lipps; older brothers, Paul Lipps of Hay Springs, Neb., and Lorin Lipps of Tekamah. He is survived by his brother, Wayne, of Tekamah; daughters, Judyth (Ken) Heuer of Dorsey, Ill., and Barbara Everroad of Columbus, Ind.; son, Grant (Debi) Lipps of Cape Coral, Fla.; four grandchildren, Jeffrey Metrick,. | Paul Moritz Asmus, age 99, of Webster City and formerly of Waverly,
died Monday, August 25, 2014, at Crestview Care and Rehabilitation
Center in Webster City. Paul was born on April 6, 1915, in Friend,
Nebraska, the son of John and Ida (Moritz) Asmus. He was baptized and
confirmed in the German Congregational Church in Friend. He graduated
from Dorchester High School in 1933. Paul started farming in Nebraska
following his graduation from high school and was also an early salesman
for Garst hybrid seed corn. He was united in marriage to Lillie May
Huegel on October 30th, 1938, in Dorchester, Nebraska. In 1944, the
couple moved to Janesville, Iowa, and in 1951, they moved to their
present farm north of Waverly, Iowa. Paul was a resident of Crestview
Senior Living in Webster City for the past nine years. Paul enjoyed
gardening, singing, John Deere tractors, and his family. Paul and Lillie
were known for sharing their abundance of asparagus, sweet corn, and
melons from their garden. Paul was a member of Faith Lutheran Church in
Shell Rock, Iowa. Paul's memory is honored by: a son, Everett (Sheryl)
Asmus of Webster City, Iowa; six grandchildren, Michael (Jenny) Asmus of
Madison, Wisconsin, Kirsten Asmus of Brandford, Connecticut, Jeannette
(Tim) Hodges of Charlotte, North Carolina, Brian (Carla) Asmus of Omaha,
Nebraska, Jill (Michael) Schumacher of Omaha, Nebraska, and Todd
(Therese) Asmus of Chisago City, Minnesota; five step-grandchildren;
twelve great-grandchildren, Natalie, John, Katelyn, Dylan, Ethan, Noah,
Isabella, and Amayah Asmus, Luke, James, and Henry Schumacher, and
Samuel Hodges; one brother, Karl Asmus of Waverly, Iowa; a sister, Ruth
Tellin of Clinton, Iowa; a sister-in-law, Goldie Asmus of Osceola, Iowa;
and a daughter-in-law, Donna Asmus of Winston Salem, North Carolina. He
was preceded in death by: his parents; his wife, Lillie on December 19,
2002; a son, Larry Asmus; two sisters, Marie Swanson and Margaret
Murray; and three brothers, John, August, and Ernest Asmus. Funeral
services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 30 at Faith
Lutheran Church in Shell Rock. Burial will follow the service at
Harlington Cemetery in Waverly.

24, 1951 in Waterloo. While living in Nebraska, August worked for
the Civilian Conservation Corps and also started farming. He moved
to Plainfield, Iowa and then Cedar Falls, Iowa where he continued to
farm for the rest of his life. August was past Treasurer and member
of Twin Town Chorus, had served on the Board of Directors of the
Federal Land Bank, was a choir member at Bethlehem Lutheran Church
and was in the John Deere Collectors Club. Survivors include his wife, Pearl, of Cedar Falls; his daughter,
Toni (Eldon) Wunder, of Cedar Falls; two grandchildren, Emilie
Wunder of Cedar Falls and Matthew (Charlotte) Asmus of Houston,
Texas; three great-grandchildren, Camille, Celeste and August Asmus;
three brothers, Paul Asmus of Webster City, Iowa, Ernest (Arlene)
Asmus of Boise, Idaho and Karl (Jan) Asmus of Waverly, Iowa; one
sister, Ruth Tellin of Clinton, Iowa; and one sister in law, Goldie
Asmus, of Osceola, Iowa. August was preceded in death by his parents and his first wife;

1927 Lincoln "Andrew Sieler Sustains Severe Gashes on Face and Head in Accident. The drivers, supposedly blinded by a heavy smoke fog which settled, over the North Tenth street viaduct after a switch engine had passed under, two cars collided and a passenger of one of the cars. Andrew Sieler, 1301 Clairmont street, was painfully injured. The accident happened on the south slope of the viaduct at about 7:30 a. m. Thursday. Sieler was a passenger In the rear seat of a light sedan driven by Andrew Roth, West Lincoln, which was going south across the viaduct. The car driven by Roth collided headon with a light coupe driven by Sherman Welptln, 1339 South Nineteenth street, a student of the University of Nebraska from Omaha, who was driving north over the viaduct. The drivers both said they were blinded by the smoke. Sieler was thrown thru the windshield of the Roth car, sustaining small gashes on the top of his head and on his right cheek. He was brought to the police station by a passing motorist where his injuries were attended. Both cars were badly damaged."
1939 "A $2,975.00 personal injury suit was brought in District court by Margaret Roth, 17, again.st Pedro Hernandez. She sued through her father, Andrew Roth. Miss Roth claimed that on Dec. 6, 1939, she was riding with Hernandez when his automobile left the road east of College View and turned over, injuring her."
