He came from Sweden in 1868, starting on May 11 and it took six weeks to
cross. He first settled in the Elgin, IL. area then moved to north of
Fremont, NB. a place that is not there anymore called Looking Glass. He
then moved to Fremont where he spent the rest of his life. (In
1868 Christina came to the U.S. from Sweden. In Sweden she worked for a
preacher and saved enough money to come to the U.S. She bought a ticket
to Chicago. When she got there a man was waiting at the depot looking
for a Swedish girl to work for him. She worked in the Borden family of
the Borden Milk Canning Co. She married John Lindstrom in 1869 near
Elgin, IL. _
John 1840-1911 and Christina 1845-1921 Lindstrom are buried in
Fremont, Nebraska.

CHARLES
In 1900 Spink County, South Dakota, Chas J. Lindstrom born November 1870 in
Illinois, is married two years to Libbie, June 1874 Michigan. They have
Frank March 1899. Brother Andrew July 1872 and sister Annie May 1878, both
Illinois, are living with them.
In 1910 Spink County, Charles and Libbie have Frank, Leo W. 8, Lorne D.
5, Edwin C. 2, and Herbert W. four months. Libbie's mother Abigail Brown,
73 widowed, born in New York, is living with them.
In 1920 Kelly precinct, Logan County, Charles and Elizabeth have added
Clarice 7, born in Colorado. Mother Christine, 74, widowed, born in
Sweden, is living with them. So is sister Ester A. 46, born in Illinois.
Charles proved up two quarters in 28, 6N 51W in 1919.
In 1940 Logan County Frank is 41, married to Florence 37, with Carol 7 and
Margaret four months.
In 1940 Leo is 38, born in South Dakota, married to Enid, 36, Iowa.
Wilbur, 11, Leta 8, Wendel 4, Neil 3 and Alan 1 were all born in Colorado.
Next household is Lorin 35 South Dakota, married to Doris 30 Nebraska.
Janie 7 and Gilbert 3 were born in Colorado.

Albert proved up two quarters in 13, 6N 51W in 1915.
In 1930 Logan County, Albert Lindstrom, 47, Nebraska, and Alice 41, Colorado,
have Francis 15 and Ethel 11, both born in Colorado.
Alice's parents Charles and Anna Green had
homesteaded near the Lindstroms.
The Kelly meteorite was found in 1937 on the side of the road by Albert
Lindstrom in Logan County, Colorado. It's a brecciated, olivine-hypersthene LL4
chondrite (amphoterite) and weighed 44.3 kg (97.5 lb). The Colorado School of
Mines Geology Museum says that it was a single rounded mass, was found after
plowing a country road and it has been "much studied because of its brecciated
structure consisting of two or more types of rocks (a polymict breccia)".
Next household after Frank in 1940 is Herbert 30, single, born in South Dakota (was in Los
Angeles in 1935). He's raising turkeys.
Next household is Albert 37, married to Alice 51, with Frances 25 and Ethel
21 - both college students.

| 1976 Greeley Frances Lindstrom announces her retirement as extension
economist Miss Frances Lindstrom is definitely contemplating retirement.
The date is set for Nov. 30, this year. "Good or bad," said Miss
Lindstrom, "that's the date." She has served as extension home economist
of Weld County for 18 years. She began in July, 1958, prior to which she
taught at the State University of Iowa, in Iowa City. She was born near
Sterling which makes her a native Coloradan. She attended elementary
school in Logan County and was graduated from Harding High School. Miss
Lindstrom received her B.S. degree from Colorado State University at
Fort Collins. She did graduate work at Columbia University in New York.
She served a short time as Baca County war food assistant after which
she moved to Lincoln County, then Morgan County and later, worked a
three-county area 'in western Colorado, before coming to Greeley. As a
young girl this home economist was interested in clothing and sewing,
joined 4-H : Clubs and took entries to the State Fair at Pueblo. She
also won ribbons at county fairs, not only in sewing but in home
furnishing, which is also an interesting area to her. .While in
high school she served as a junior 4-H leader for about two years. Miss
Lindstrom is a member of. the 'First United Presbyterian Church, has '.
served as a deacon and elder on the church board, and is active in the
Women's Association and circle. She is a member of Altrusa .Club, of the
American . Association of University Frances Lindstrom Women (AAUW), of
both the Colorado and National Home Economists' Associations and the
Colorado and National Extension Home Economists. She has been secretary
of the National Association of Extension Home Economists, and recently
attended a meeting in Portland, Ore. She and her sister, Miss Ethel
Lindstrom who is a dietician at Weld County General Hospital, make their
home together in Greeley. Their mother resides at Sterling. In speaking
of her work Miss Lindstrom said she enjoyed the variety in her job. the
people she met, the kinds of things she did. The working conditions and
staff as well as members of the. extension clubs were very pleasant.
People joined on a voluntary basis and were most cooperative. Miss
Lindstrom has many projects at home she has started and hopes to
complete when she has more time upon, retiring. She loves handicraft and
sewing--has joined the Embroiderers' Guild. "For a while," said the
well-known and loved home economist, "I'll enjoy being not quite so
busy!
Frances Amy Lindstrom, 87, of Greeley, died Wednesday, May 29, 2002,
in Greeley. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the funeral services
at 2 p.m. Friday, May 31, at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home with Rev. Wilbur
Lindstrom and Rev. Dale Lindstrom. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Frances was born Oct. 14, 1914, to Albert Lindstrom and Alice (Green)
Lindstrom in a sod house on the family homestead in the Kelly community,
20 miles southeast of Sterling. She attended a one room school for grade
school at Kelly and graduated from Harding High School. She received her
bachelor of science degree at Colorado State University in home
economics in 1944. Later, she received her master of arts degree from
Columbia University.
Frances taught one year of foods at the State University of Iowa in Iowa
City. She returned to Colorado as a home extension agent in Washington,
Lincoln and Morgan counties, and in the Montrose area.
Miss Lindstrom became home agent in Weld County in July 1958 and was
dedicated in leading and directing the Home Extension Clubs throughout
the county. She retired in November 1976. She was a seamstress, and was
creative and talented in needle work and quilting, stitching many
beautiful articles. She was active in church programs all her life. She
was a member of the First United Presbyterian Church of Greeley.
Miss Lindstrom is survived by her sister, Ethel Lindstrom of Greeley;
and many cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Alice Lindstrom.

Clara is a stenographer in 1911 Sterling, rooming at 213 s 2nd Avenue.
Clara proved up a quarter in 18, 6N 50W in 1914.
In 1917 Tacoma Miss Clara Lindstrom spoke at a meeting of the Y.W.C.A..
The Tacoma Times reported January 1, 1918 "Marriage licenses were
issued in Tacoma Monday to....David D. CLark and Clara M. Lindstrom of Tacoma."
The 1920 census of Lewis County, Washington has David Clark 43 immigrating in
1900, running a grocery, with Clara M. 35. They have Lorin D. 1, born in
Washington.
David D. Clark, born in Ontario, and Clara M. Lindstrom, born in Ames
Nebraska, had Don R. Clark January 10, 1922 in Tacoma.
Clara is widowed in 1930 Pierce County, Washington, with Lorin D. 11 and
Donald R. 8. Next household is Albert J. Clark 77 and Mary R. 71.
In 1940 Pierce County, Clara is farming, and Lorin D. and Donald are still
with her.
Washington death records have Clara Matilda (Lindstrom) Clark dying April 29,
1955 in Skagit County Washington.
PHILIP
In 1910 Dodge County Nebraska, Philip is with parents John 68, and Christina
65. Sister Amanda, 35, born in Illinois, is with them.
Philip registered in Dodge County Nebraska, born April 19, 1887 in Ames
Nebraska. He's single, farming, supporting his mother.
In 1920 Dodge County, Nebraska, Philip is 22, married to Olive 23, farming.
Olive's mother Mrs. Charles May 64, widowed, is living with them.
In 1930 Kelly precinct, Logan County, Philip and Olive have Ross, 8, born in
Nebraska and Lida M. 4, Colorado. Lucy E. May 75 is still with them.
In 1940 Sterling, Philip Lindstrom, 50, born in Nebraska and Olive 42,
Nebraska, farming, have Ross 18 Nebraska, Ruth 17 Nebraska, Lyla 14 Colorado,
and Olive's mother Lucy May 85, widowed, born in Iowa.
ANNA
Anna Sophia Rice 86 of 515 Walnut died Tuesday, March 2, 1965,
at Logan county hospital after a short illness.
Mrs. Rice, a resident of Logan county since 1921 was born May 5, 1878 in
Elgin, IL. to Mr. and Mrs. John Lindstrom. May 11, 1904 she married
Edwin M. Rice in Aberdeen, SD. residing there for three years. In 1907
they moved to San Luis Valley near Monte Vista, CO. In 1910 to Vinita,
OK and then to Scott City, Kansas. that same fall, living there for
three years. They returned to San Luis Valley then moved to Roy,
MT. in 1914 remaining there till 1920. In 1921 they moved to the Kelly
community where they farmed till they retired and moved to Sterling in
1943. Mr. Rice died on July 22, 1946.
Mrs. Rice was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren church at
Kelly till moving to Sterling where she became a member of the Calvary
Baptist church.
Survivors include a son Leslie Rice of the New Haven community, a
brother Philip Lindstrom of Sterling, two sisters, Emma Margritz of
Lexington, NB. and Mary Cottrell of Grayland, WA. Two grandchildren and
five great grandchildren ==============================
Edwin M. Rice age 74 years a retired farmer of the Kelly district and
resident of Sterling for three years, died at his residence early this
morning July 19, 1946, after an illness of one week.
Rice was born May 13, 1872, in Clarinda, IA. son of Reuben and Anna
Eliza Ball Rice. He lived at Iona, IA. and Charles City, IA. until 1882,
at which time he moved to the Dakota territory with his parents and took
up a homestead west of Aberdeen, S.D. He was married to Anna Lindstrom
on May 11, 1904 in Aberdeen, S.D. and moved to Monte Vista, CO. in 1907.
Three years later they moved to Vinita, OK. and then to Scott City,
Kansas, then to Roy, MT. In 1920 they came to Sterling and farmed in the
Kelly district till 1945. He was a member of the Evangelical church of
Sterling.
Surviving Mr. Rice are his wife, Anna of Sterling; a son Leslie Rice of
Fleming; a sister Mrs. Mabel Keeney of Ashland, OR. and two
grandchildren. Another son Alva died in Sterling 1921 age of 9

Roberta Renee Rosenbach, 52, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2013
at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs, Colorado following a lengthy
illness.
She was born December 30, 1960 in Sterling Colorado. She was the
daughter of Wayne Rosenbach and Leta Lindstrom Andrews. The family lived
in Venezuela while Renee was just a small girl.
The family eventually lived in Bitter Creek, Wyoming for a few years
before moving to Rock Springs. Renee attended school in Wamsutter,
Wyoming for a short time before completing her education in Rock
Springs. She worked at numerous locations as a bookkeeper/clerk.
Renee was married to Albert "Pete" Peterson III of Westminster,
Colorado. They had three sons, Justin, Tyler, and Travis. She later
married Jim Stassinos of Rock Springs, Wyoming.
Her Interests included spending time with her family, making friends,
traveling, watching movies, waterskiing, snow skiing, bowling, and
socializing.
Survivors include her sons Tyler and Travis Peterson of Denver CO, her
mother Leta Andrews of Colorado Springs, CO, brothers Randy Rosenbach
and wife Sandy, Eddie Rosenbach and wife Terry of Rock Springs Wyoming ,
and numerous step-siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Renee was preceded in death by her infant son Justin, father Wayne
Rosenbach, and stepmother Barbara Rosenbach, stepfather Andy Andrews.
Visitation is Tuesday April 9, 2013 from 5pm-8pm at Crown Hill Mortuary
with services at 10:00 am on Wednesday April 10, 2013 at Crown Hill

| Roberta Lindstrom was in the
All-Colorado band in 1960. August 2013 Rev. Herb Schneidau, who served
as the corporate secretary from May 1999 through May 2002, passed away
suddenly on Thurs., Aug. 8. He was 69 years old.
Following his term as corporate secretary, Herb was the administrator
of the former Central ARC (Administrative Resource Center), a role he
served until his retirement in 2012. Throughout his 47 years of
ministry, he served in various pastoral, administrative and leadership
positions, including six years as part of the board of directors. He
made many lasting friends who will remember him for his gentleness and
kindness and his
unflagging humor.
Foursquare President Glenn Burris Jr. stated: Herb
was one of those people you never forget
and not just because he was 6' 9" ! His love for the Lord and for
people was remarkable; he always had a funny story and words of
encouragement. He was faithful to every task the Lord entrusted to him,
serving with graciousness and distinction. He will be greatly missed.
Herb is survived by his wife of 48 years, Roberta; two sons and two
daughters; a number of grandchildren; one brother and one sister. Please
pray that the sustaining and comforting power of the Holy Spirit will be
with the Schneidau family during this time of grief and loss.
A memorial service to celebrate Herb's
life will be held on Weds., Aug. 14 at 10 a.m. at:Fitzgerald Southwood

The eight Lindstrom children, now all more than 50 years
since graduating from high school, were in attendance at
the Sterling High School (SHS) 50+ Reunion Annual
Banquet on Oct. 5, 2013 The banquet – held every year
during SHS’s Homecoming weekend – celebrated the
different classes represented and their guests.
For about 21 years, more when the parents are
considered, there have been Lindstroms within Sterling
High School. That was in the years during World War II
and up to the arrival of the Beatles.
Seven siblings took their turn through the classes of
Logan County High School, then Sterling High School.
“When Mr. Jensen was the band director, he said he
would take all the Lindstroms he could get,” Neil said.
Music was a part of the high school experience for
some of the Lindstroms.
Neil was in the high school band, since seventh
grade. Roberta and Charles also participated in band.
She was in the flute trio, pep band, choir and the band.
Wilber Lindstrom graduated in 1946, Leta Lindstrom
Andrews in 1949, Wendel Lindstrom in 1953, Neil
Lindstrom in 1954, Alan Lindstrom in 1956, Roberta
Lindstrom Schneidau in 1961 and Charles Lindstrom in
1963. Prior to this generation, both parents graduated
from then Logan County High School in 1921.
Saturday was the first time all of them were together
in probably five to six years.

MARY
Clark Cottrell 60, a clergyman, and Mary E. Cottrell 50, born in
Nebraska, are in Whitman County Washington in 1940. Franklin 18 , Walter
16, and Mary E. 9 were all born in Washington.
Long-time Grays Harbor resident Walter D. Cottrell, age 84, passed
away December 7, 2008 at Harborview Medical Center after a brief
illness.
He was born April 9, 1924 in McCleary, Washington to Rev. Clark and Mary
E. Cottrell, the 4th of 5 children (Clark, Ted, Francis, Walter, and
Mary). His father was a Methodist Minister, who served in communities
throughout Washington State. The family moved frequently, so Walt grew
up in Menlo, Algona, Randle, Winthrop, Edwall, Tekoa, and Walla Walla,
but with many visits to his Uncle Frank Cottrell (father of Ruth Miller)
in Grayland.
Walter was inducted into the Army March 20, 1943. He had nearly
completed Aviation Cadet training at Dickerson College when he was
transferred to the 78th Division, 309th Infantry. He fought in the front
lines of several key battles of WWII, including the Battle of Hurtgen
Forest, the Battle of the Bulge, and holding the Remagen Bridgehead. He
received a bronze star for his service.
When he returned from Europe, he briefly attended Whitman College in
Walla Walla, then joined his family who had moved to Aberdeen where his
father was running the D Street steam baths. After the war, Walt worked
several jobs including logging at Camp Gisdale, picking oysters for
Paragon Oyster Co. in Willapa Bay, fishing commercially, skippering for
Larson Charters in Westport, and improving the cranberry bogs in
Grayland that his father had started in 1940.
On September 5, 1954 he married Christine Hasbrouck, from whom he was
inseparable for the rest of his life. Together they raised three
children. Having travelled so much in the first 22 years of his life,
Walt put down deep roots. For the rest of his life he continued to farm
cranberries, living in the house he built for his father and mother in
Grayland.
He was active in the community, serving as Commander of American Legion
Post 135, on the board of the Grayland Cranberry Association, as
Commissioner of Pacific County Drainage District #1, was a Past-master
of Westhaven Masonic Lodge #274, and a member of North Willapa Harbor
Grange.
Walt is survived by his wife Christine and sons David and Francis
Cottrell of Grayland, and his daughter Anne (Eric) Spencer and grandson
Quinn of Caldwell Idaho, and by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded
in death by his parents, brothers, and sister.
His family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of
Grays Harbor Community Hospital and Harborview Medical Center for their
care and kindness.------------------------------------
Ted Cottrell, 80, a longtime resident of Grayland, Washington,
a technical editor for General Atomics in California until his
retirement, died at Sun Bridge Bear Creek Nursing Home in Morrison,
Jefferson County, Colorado, on Thursday, August 24, 2000. Private
interment will be at Fern Hill Cemetery, Menlo, Washington. A
celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by
the Coleman Mortuary , Hoquiam, Washington.

HARBOR-Former Grayland resident Dorothy Parker Cottrell, who had lived
in Friday Harbor on San Juan Island for 20 years, died after a brief
illness Saturday, Nov. 17, 2001, at her home. She was 82.
Mrs. Cotrell was born Feb. 14, 1919, at Malden, Mass., to Amos Earle and
Dorothy Parker (Skillings) Carle.
As a young woman, she became a registered nurse and served in the Navy
Nurse Corps in the Pacific Theater during World War II.
Before moving to San Juan Island, she lived in Seattle, where she worked
as a nurse at Swedish Hospital. Before that, she and her husband, Clark
Cottrell Jr., lived on the Harbor. He died in 1980.
Mrs. Cottrell is survived by three children, Nancy Cyr of Cheyenne,
Wyo., Sarah Muchnick and Clark III, both of Seattle; 12 grandchildren
and 10 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for noon Saturday, Nov. 24, in the Fern
Hill Cemetery at Aberdeen.
