William / Wilhelm P. Krukow

On the Hamburg passenger list for April/May 1906 was Wilhelm and Caroline Kruckow, with Wilhelm 15, Helene 13, Alise 9, and ?? 9.

William Krukow was in Logan County in 1910, age 45, married 20 years to Caroline.  William is 19, Hellene 17, Lizzie 13, and Maxwell 13-adopted child.  All were born in Germany.

William Paul Krukow was born July 10, 1891 at Gatztum, Germany, was naturalized when he registered with a LeRoy address.

 William proved up  a quarter in 28,  6N 50W in 1918, and Wilhelm Krukow proved up a quarter in section 11 in 1914.

William Krukow -1863-1914 is buried in Leroy, on the same stone as Caroline 1872-1958.

Carlina Krukow, 43 married J.C. Lewien, 54,  March 2, 1915, recorded in Logan County.

HELENE

George Gilbert Grauberger registered with a Fleming address, born February 12, 1887 in Benkleman, Nebraska.

In 1920 Fleming precinct, George G. Grauberger is 32, farming, born in Nebraska, Helen 26 Germany, immigrating in 1906, naturalized 1912.  They have William F. 4 and Doris H. 2.

In 1930 they're farming in Kit Carson County, with William, Doris, and added Robert E. 9 and Mary L. 1.

In 1940 they're back in Logan County, with William,  Robert D. and Mary Louise.  Doris is an office assistant in Sterling.

April 1962 "Mr. and Mrs. George Grauberger were honored on their 50th wedding anniversary at an open house held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grauberger in Haxtun."

Helene Grauberger 1893-1980 and George G. Grauberger 1887-1969 are buried in Haxtun.

Robert B. Grauberger 1920-1977 and Wilma Viola (Mutchie) (Grauberger) Yost 1920-2007 are buried in Haxtun

Wilma Viola Yost, 86, Sterling, passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007 in Sterling at the Devonshire Acres Nursing Home.

Wilma was born October 10, 1920, the daughter of Lawrence and Hattie (Robinson) Mutchie in Holyoke. She was raised in Haxtun and attended Haxtun High School. Wilma graduated from Colorado Women's College (now Temple Buhle College) in Denver. She married Robert (Bud) Grauberger August 1942. Bud passed away in 1977. Wilma married Victor Yost December 1979. The couple lived in Haxtun for twenty years before moving to Sterling. They continued with farming interest near Haxtun and called Haxtun home. Wilma worked as Secretary to the Haxtun Superintendent of Schools for 13 years and was a member of the Legion Auxiliary for 76 years. She served in all auxiliary offices in the Unit, District and Department, including Department Auxiliary President in 1970-71. Wilma was an active participant in Columbine Girls' State for 35 years, five of which she served as director.

Wilma traveled extensively throughout the United States and overseas during her marriage to Bud, both as personal travel as well as with Bud's involvement with the American Legion and Colorado Wheat Growers Association. Vic and Wilma traveled to Texas and Alaska yearly for 27 years for personal experience and to visit family.

Survivors include her husband; son Larry Grauberger and wife Carol; granddaughters Traci Middel and husband Josh, Ashley and Samantha Grauberger; step-daughters Vickie Johnson and husband Garnie, and Linda Vizenor and husband Del; three step-granddaughters; two step-grandsons; and three step-great grandchildren; and her very special friend Rachel Quesada.

Visitation was Thursday, May 17. Funeral services were Friday, May 18 at the Haxtun United Methodist Church with Pastor Keith Hudiburgh officiating. Wilma was interned at the Haxtun Cemetery 
Doris E. Wiseman, 65, of 514 Broadway, Sterling, died Sunday March 7, 1982 in a Greeley hospital. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Cross Episcopal Mission, 618 West Main, Sterling. Father David Mustian will officiate. Inurnment will follow at Haxtun Cemetery.  Mrs. Wiseman was born Jan. 21, 1917 in Fleming to George and Helene Grauberger and settled in Sterling in 1958. She owned and operated Sterling Steno Service. She was a member of All Saints Episcopal Church, American Legion Auxiliary Post 20 and a Senior Master of the American Contract Bridge League.
She is survived by two sons, Harold A. Wiseman of Loveland and Dr. Bruce K. Wiseman of Ft. Collins; a daughter, Caroline S. Wiseman of Fort Collins; a sister, Mary Huislander of Sterling; and three grand sons.
Thompson Mortuary, Haxtun, is in charge of arrangements. 
 

MAX

Max H. Krukow in 1920 is in Camp Merritt, New Jersey, 23, born in Colorado, but he said his father was born in the U.S., his mother in Wisconsin.

Elizabeth Marks 1902-1971 and Gustave Adolph Marks 1892-1976 are buried in Leroy.

WILLIAM P.

Wm. P. Krukow, 24, married Blanche E. Bloomfield, 24, in Sterling April 19, 1916.

In 1920 Logan County, William is 28, Blanche 23 born in Nebraska.  They have Harvey 2 and Fern 1.

In 1940 they have only Ruthie.  Ferne and Della are salesladies at a five and dime in Sterling, living with the widow Effie Greme.

Ruthie I. Maier born Oct 24, 1922 died May 1990.

Ferne Loos born May 8, 1918 died Dec 1974.

 

My mother is looking for any relatives her name is Maxine Rose Krukow, her father was Maxwell Harley Krukow, and Rose Rebecca Codona. Her fathers family were farmers in the Sterling, Colorado area. My mother is from CA. If you have any information I would appreciate it.
