| 1955 Word has been received in Centralia, (Washington) of the death of Mrs. Phoebe Leona Monning, 79, a former Waunch Prairie resident. She passed away Thursday at an Auburn nursing: home. Mrs. Monning was born Oct. 17 1875, in Illinois. She had been a resident of Auburn for 18 months moving there from Renton, where she lived for five years. She went to Renton from Waunch Prairie where she made her home for two years. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Marian Janssen, Auburn; a son, Francis L., Port Chicago, Calif., 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, at the Sticklin chapel in Centralia with the Rev. E. W. Rogers of Auburn officiating. Interment will follow at Greenwood Memorial park |

Henrietta Janssen received moderate to major injuries Wednesday when
their car ran off Highway 101 at Acorn Park in Willits Wednesday
afternoon, went down an embankment and overturned. Both women are from
Covelo and both were taken to Howard Memorial Hospital in Willits.
Hoagland was treated and released; Janssen was admitted to the hospital
and is in stable condition, according to a hospital spokeswoman." She had lived in Covelo for the past two years, coming to this community from Modesto. She was a registered nurse at Scenic General Hospital during her adult life. She was also a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Survivors include a brother, Otto Janssen of Auburn, Wash.; six nieces: Hilda Hoagland of Covelo, Bertha Fritz of Minden, Neb., Ruth Von Dohlen of San Jose, Glenda pwef of Loma Linda, Lucille Oer hilen and Eldaa Williams of Sonora; three nephews: Dick Janssen of Auburn, Wash., Ron Oerhilen of Modesto, and Bob Janssen of Ohio. H. L. Janssen, Jr., 60, Carpenter, Succumbs
Henry Ludwig Janssen, Jr. 60, a Modesto carpenter for seven years, died this
morning after an extended illness.
He was a native of Nebraska and a member of the First Lutheran Church.
Janssen was the husband of Mrs. Johanna Janssen; father of Mrs. Pearl Williams
of Modesto, Ernest Janssen of Springfield, Ore., Mrs. Esther Frerichs of
Bloomington, Neb., son of Henry L. Janssen, Sr., of Modesto; brother of
Henrietta Janssen of Greeley, Colo., Mrs. Emma Leiske of Upland, Neb., Otto
Janssen of Auburn, Wash., nephew of Ralph and Miss Lena Janssen of Modesto.
Seven grandchildren also survive.
Funeral arrangements are pending at the Salas Brothers-Moore Funeral Chapel.

Johanna Janssen
Funeral services for Johanna Mary Janssen will be held Friday at 11 AM in the
Grace Lutheran Church, 617 West Orangeburg Avenue, Modesto.
The 76 year old former Modesto resident died Saturday in Franklin, Neb. She had
lived in Modesto during the 1940's. Her husband, Henry Janssen, died here in
1947.
The Rev. Arthur Brohm, Jr., will officiate at the services. Interment will be in
the Odd Fellows Cemetery. Salas Brothers-Moore Funeral Chapel is handling
arrangements.

October 1957 Greeley "Henry was born September 2, 1928 to Martin and Sadie
Janssen in Ault, CO. Martin grew up in the Greeley, CO area, attending schools
there, and at the age of 17, joined the Navy and was stationed in Pearl Harbor.
He met his wife, Marie Lampe, on a blind date, introduced by Marie's friend
Betty Strausheim. They married on October 28, 1951.
After their first son, Brian, was born, Henry went to Chicago to attend diesel
mechanics school. After he finished his schooling, he was hired by International
Harvest Company in Commerce City, CO. He was employed there until his death on
October 26th, 1957. "
Raymond Lawrence Janssen was born in 1922. While working in Stockton, CA, he
came back to Colorado for his mother's funeral in December 1971. As a favor to
his employers, he drove to Denver to check out a construction job. On his way
home, he was killed in a car accident northbound on Interstate 25 200 yards from
the Erie exit on the way back from checking out the job. He died instantly at
approximately 4:40pm MST.
Pearl Norris, Raymond's first wife, were married Dec. 13, 1944 in Seattle.
Raymond was stationed for 41 months in the Navy overseas, but had recently
returned to the states, and was now stationed in Seattle.
In an article dated Dec 9, 1941, that said Raymond was working at Pearl Harbor,
for about a year, as a Sea Bee, also worked as mechanic on shore.
