Zefanias Heiska 

 Zefanias was born at Illenbotter, Finland on Sept 30, 1860, immigrated October 1881 on the Hillersley from Liverpool, and was naturalized in Sterling district court July 16, 1891. (passport application of 1895, when he was living at Sterling)

Zefanias proved up  a quarter in 15, 6N 50W, Logan County, Colorado in 1893.

Zefanias Heiska, age 36,  married Wilma (or Hilma) J. Akerman October 31, 1896 in Fitchburg, Worcester County, Massachusetts.  He was the son of Jacob Heiska and Maria Ivari, she was 24, daughter of Matti Akerman and Maria Mothonen.  Both were laborers, and their first marriage.

Hilma Akerman, Finnish, age 24, arrived in New York December 13, 1895 on the Aller from Bremen.  She was the only Akerman on the ship.  F. Heiska, age 25, Finnish was on the same ship.

In 1900 Crook precinct, Logan County, "Zehanias Haske" is a farm laborer, born in 1862 in "Findland" immigrating in 1884.  He's living with Albert and Lizzie Record family,- also farm laborer, born in Iowa.

Hilma Matsen, born September 1870 in Finland, is just married in 1900 Carbon County, Utah to Anton Matsen born Oct 1867 - a coal miner.

ACKERMAN, but probably not related

Stephen W. Ackerman cash-claimed a quarter in 5, 4N 49W in 1891.  He's a carpenter in 1900 Johnson County, Wyoming, born Sept 1839 in New York, married to Anna June 1856 in Iowa, married 25 years.  So he's probably not related.  They have Dorothy Nov 1883 Wyoming Iva Dec 1885 Kansas, Rillie Mar 1888 Colorado, Laura Oct 1889 Colorado, Maggie Mar 1892 Wyoming, Andrew Aug 1894 Wyoming, and Jasper Oct 1896 Wyoming.

Anna is widowed in 1910 Colorado Springs, with Andrew S, 15, Jasper D. 13, and Howard L. 7.

Anna is still in Colorado Springs in 1920, with Andrew S. 25, Jasper D. 23, H. Lee 17, and granddaughter Velma 11, born in Wyoming., 11.

In 1930 Colorado Springs Anna is living with Andrew S. 34, his wife Pearl M.31, and they have Ferne M. 4.

One tree said Anna Keasling born Jun 23, 1856, married Stephen William Ackerman (his third marriage, marrying Ada A. Finch 1860 in DuPage County, Ill, then Adelia Campbell Dec 1863 in Kane County - serving in the Illinois 12th Cavalry) July 4, 1875 in Nodaway County, Missouri, died July 6, 1936 in Colorado Springs, buried in Evergreen Cemetery.# 34339292

Hubert Akerman cash-claimed a quarter in 12, 7N 48W in 1892.

He could be the Hubert Ackerman born May 1871 in Indiana, with parents in Clay County Idiana in 1880 -with siblings William 2 and Mary 1.  Parents Jacob 53 and eliza 42 Ackerman.

In 1900 Fort Wayne, Indiana, Hubert is married, a fresco painter, with a year-old-son.

Hubert -1871-Sept 11, 1926 is buried in Fort Wayne, Indiana 75668928
