Jesse Bright CORBIN was born on 17 Jun 1864 in Fayette County, Iowa. He died on 12 Feb 1949 in Sterling Colorado.  Jesse Corbin went to Colorado in the early 1900's. He opened a General Store in Kelly, Colorado. He also ran a threshing machine in Colorado.

James proved up  a quarter in 31, 6N 50W in 1917.

Persus D. Corbin proved up a quarter in 34, 6N 51W in 1916.

Lula Corbin married Willard M. Frost March 17, 1910, recorded in Logan County.

In 1940 Sterling Jessie, 75, and Minnie Mae 63 have Clarence 52, no occupation,  LaVone 24, a waitress, and granddaughter Joan, 8, born in California.

Jesse B. Corbin -1864-1949 is buried in the Kelly cemetery.

Dean "Pearsus"  Corbin registered in Logan County, born August 28, 1889 in Wadena, Iowa, a farm laborer for Jess Corbin.

In 1930 Kelly precinct Joseph Fennell is 37, Arvilla 34, both born in Iowa.  They have Raymond 17 and Dorothy 9. (Next household is Vern Lockard)

In 1940 Logan County Joe and Arvilla are alone.

Arvilla -Sept 22, 1895- Apr 2, 1965 and Joe 1892-1968 are buried in the Kelly cemetery.  Joseph's obituary said he was born in Wadena Iowa.

Charles S. Gue and Hattie Inbody married June 30, 1897 in York, Nebraska, and are in York County in 1900 with Fay.

They may have divorced - Charles is single in 1910 Shelby County, Iowa, lodging with the Simon and Anastasia Bendon family, with their daughter Gertrude, 26, born in Iowa.  Charles is a mail carrier, 31, born in Iowa.

Rootsweb says Charles Gue married Gertrude Lucy Bendon February 12, 1911 in Fremont, Nebraska.

Possible: Chas. Runyan in 1910 Leroy precinct, married twelve years to Hattie 33, born in Nebraska, father Indiana, mother Pennsylvania.  They have Faye 11, Nebraska, Gerald 8, Garvin 6, South Dakota, and Fern 1, Colorado.

John M. Corbin proved up two quarters in 4 and 9, 5N 51W in 1915.

John Martin Corbin registered with a Le Roy address, born Nov 3, 1886 at Wadena, Iowa, with a wife anc child.

In 1920 John 33 and Fay 24 have Orville 7, Margaruite 3, and month-old Lowell.  Brother Dean, 30, is with them.

In 1930 Logan County John and Fay have Orville, Margarie, Lowell, and Keith, 7.

In 1940 Logan County John and Fay Bernice have Keith Clark Corbin, 17, and Dennis Dean Corbin, 6.

1944 Council Bluffs, Iowa Charles Stephan Gue, 66, a machinist's helper on the Rock Island railroad, died at a local hospital Thursday morning of injuries suffered Saturday night when he was struck by an automobile about 20 feet west of the intersection of Twentieth street on Avenue B. It was the first traffic fatality in Council Bluffs this year and the fourth in Pottawattamie county. James Morisey, 25, driver of the car, was en route to Fort Omaha, where he is employed, when he struck Gue.  Morisey said he was driving at a speed of about 18 or 22 miles an hour. After striking him, Morisey said he stopped the car within 15 feet and then drove on about 40 feet to ask some people to assist him with the fallen man. They in turn asked that police and an ambulance be called and left Gue lying in the street. He was booked for investigation and released. Gue is survived by widow, Mrs. Gertrude Gue, 2008 Avenue C; three sons, M. Sgt. Vincent Alfred Gue of Great Falls, Mont., Pvt. Francis Emmett Gue of Camp Roberts, Calif., and Sgt. Charles M. Gue in the army air forces over seas; three daughters, Mrs. Oscar Winchell of Anchorage, Alaska; Mrs. Myron Rosman of Harlan, and Mary Gue at home. The body will lie in state at the Beem-Belford funeral home until the hour of the service which will be held Saturday at 9 a. m. at the Holy Family church. Requiem mass will be celebrated by the Rev. William Coughlan. Burial will be in St. Joseph's cemetery.

WILMINGTON ILLINOIS -Keith C. Corbin Sr., 88, of Wilmington, passed away Tuesday, April 5, 2011, in Kankakee, IL. He was born Aug. 16, 1922 in Sterling, CO, the son of John M. and Faye (Gue) Corbin.

Keith moved from Colorado to Chicago at a young age. He was a WWII Veteran of the United States Army, having served from 1942 to February 1946, attaining the rank of sergeant. On Nov. 29, 1952 he married Thelma L. Miller in Joliet. He was employed by Uniroyal Corp. for 35 years. Keith served as treasurer for the Braidwood Fire Protection District when it was first established in 1966 until 1985. He enjoyed living in the country on his farm with his cats and dog.

He is survived by his loving sons and daughters, Keith C. (Suzanne) Corbin, Ken (Jeannie) Corbin, Karen (Doug) Soberski and Tracy (Ray) Sinkular; one granddaughter, and four grandsons.

Preceding him in death were his beloved wife of 51 years, Thelma; his son, Kevin Corbin and his grandson, Christopher Corbin.

Funeral services will be private. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Braidwood..

Orville F. Corbin, 79, a Chicago insurance executive for 30 years, died April 27, 1992 in North Horizon Health Care Center, St. Petersburg, Fla. Mr. Corbin was president and chief executive officer of the United American Insurance Center. In 1954, he was an unsuccessful Republican candidate for Congress in the 2nd District. He was a World War II veteran of the Army and a member of the Medinah and Scottish Rite temples. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy;

four sons, Keith, Ronald, Stewart and Dayton; a daughter, Rhea Calabrese; his mother, Faye; three brothers; one sister; 17 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in St. Petersburg.

My grandmother Myrtle Almina Corbin married my grandfather Raymond George McFarlane in Iowa in 1908, they were divorced I believe in Colorado after 1912 and she married Chester Isaac Geysinger and they had one son Kenneth. She died in Colorado June 19, 1925 and her death certificate says she is buried at Burdette, Colorado. Would appreciate hearing from anyone familiar with Colorado (Logan county) cemeteries or any of my Corbin relatives. Thanks.  Mertsie

The 1920 census of Kelly precinct has Chester, 34, Arkansas,  Myrtle 30, Virdie 7, both Iowa, and Kenneth (daughter) 1, Colorado.

In the Burdett cemetery is a stone "Myrtle Guisinger - Dec 5, 1889-Jun 19, 1925 - but it's new and doesn't match census information.89104429
