Friedrich BUNTE came to the U.S. around 1863-64. He married Wilhelmine SCHULTZ
on May 14, 1871 by Rev. Lossner at St. Paul's in Beecher, Il. They had one son
named Heinrich BUNTE who was born on March 7, 1872. Mr. BUNTE unfortunately died
July 18, 1874. Henry BUNTE married Mary Christine LUEKEN on March 9, 1898 in
Peotone, Will Co. Il.at her parents home. They had 6 children- one of which is
my grandfather Edwin BUNTE.
Henry Bunte was assessed in 1896 with a Cripple Creek address for six months
(perhaps cigar sales?)
Henry proved up a quarter in 10, 6N 50W in 1896.
Adolph Coors owned a building in Cripple Creek at the time.
“German born, Coors has been accustomed to the European
tradition of breweries owning local pubs to help distribute
their product. Coors carried on that tradition in Colorado.
As his brewery prospered, he purchased buildings to lease
back to prospective saloon owners who, in turn, would sell
beer in their establishments,” wrote Brian Levine in
“Cripple Creek, City of Influence.”
The Coors building was at 241-243 E. Bennett Ave., and he
leased the property back to Henry Bunte for his B. B.
Saloon.
Henry Bunte married Katie Bunte October 9, 1895, recorded in Denver County.
And a Henry Bunte died Sept 13, 1896 in Denver. He was buried in Fairmount
September 16, 1896.
In 1900 Cripple Creek, Henry Bunte born July 1861 in Germany, is a saloon
keeper. He's been married four years to Kate, May 1869 Germany, and they
have Ernest Feb 1857 born in Colorado. He even advertised in the Denver
SVENSK AMERIKA newspaper.
In 1910 Denver Henry "own income" and Kate have Ernest R. 13, Arthur H. 7,
and Bernice 1.
In 1920 Denver Henry, a rancher, and Katie have Ernest 22, Arthur 18, and
Bernice M. 11.
Bernice, residing at 1122 Ogden, Denver, arrived at New York from Southampton
in August 1930. She was born Sept 28, 1908.
In 1940 Denver, Henry 78 and Katie 70 have Bernice M. 31, a public school
teacher.
Henry 1861-1954, Katherine 1869-1950 and Bernice 1908-1994 are buried in
Denver Fairmount.

The above Henry Bunte is perhaps more likely than the Grand County Bunte
family.
C.H. Bunte was assessed by IRS in 1892 with a Glenwood Springs, occupation "WMLD".
Maybe the Henry Bunte who cash-claimed a quarter in Grand County, 8S 73W in
1892, and another in 1890 in 2N 77W, also Grand County.
1914 Hot Sulphur Springs "Mrs. Henry Bunte and son Arnold of Denver are going
to make their summer home with Harry and Chester at the upper ranch on
Stillwater."

1915 Hot Sulphur Springs "Mrs. Henry Bunte is spending a few weeks with
her sons Harry and Chester at the ranch."
1916 Hot Sulphur Springs "Henry Bunte and 'Harry' were down from Stillwater
on business."
"Mrs. Henry Bunte is enjoying her lovely summer home again."
1917 "Henry Bunte was down from his Windy gap ranch Wednesday."
Hot Sulphur Springs " Mrs. Titcomb, formerly
Mrs. Henry Bunte, says of the Kauffman House: “Mr. Bunte and I spent our
honeymoon there. It had a real charm, with its chintz-canopied dressing tables
and beds, hand-woven carpets, and snowy linens.”
Charles F. FREE, born Zurich Switzerland, Oct.
l6, 1873. Came to Canada with parents but emigrated to the U.S. around
1890. He went to Denver and spent his 18th birthday at "Spruce Lodge'.
Employed by George Bunte on the Amos Horn Ranch. After leaving that ranch
he was employed by J.R. Godsmark who had the only grocery store in Hot
Sulphur Springs. He freighted from Hot Sulphur Springs to Georgetown and
Denver. In the spring of 1899 he left the Blue River Route and was again
employed to drive stage from Georgetwon to Hot Sulphur Springs. Married
Elizabeth A. Jones (daughter of Solomon) in 1900 where they spent their
early married life on the Jones Ranch two miles east of Hot Sulphur Springs.
