Jakob Friedrich Bauder was born the son of Andreas Bauder and
his wife Christina Ottenbacher and was born on the 14th day of
October in the year of 1875 at Seebach, Russia. He was baptized
in the name of the Triune God in early infancy in his home and
confirmed after coming to America in Salem's Lutheran Church,
Landsman, Arapaho County, Colorado on April 5th, 1891. He was
united in holy wedlock on the 4th day of April, 1902, with
Pauline Frank at Leroy, Colorado. This union was blessed with 9
children of whom all survive.
He came to America in 1889 and lived at Burlington. In 1908 he
and his wife and their two children took up a homestead near
Leroy where he lived and raised his family until his retirement
in 1947. He then moved to Sterling to spend the rest of his days
at his home at 432 Douglas St. Mr. and Mrs. Bauder celebrated
their 50th wedding anniversary in April of this year. (April 4,
1952).
He was a member of Peace Lutheran Church. His pastor, Rev.
Arthur R. Wachholz gave him holy communion on the Thursday
morning preceding his death on Monday. Friday he was moved to
the Good Samaritan Hospital and on Monday noon passed this
earthly life after an illness of about four months. The length
of his earthly days were 76 years, nine months and 7 days. No
one thought on Sunday evening when his pastor and children were
at his bedside that he might not survive the next day. But God
knew best and when he calls we follow that call and submit to
his will which is always best.
Funeral service was held at the Peace Lutheran Church in
Sterling on Thursday afternoon (July 24, 1952) with the Rev.
Arthur R. Wachholz in charge. A devotional service was held at
the 3ackson Mortuary at One O'clock for the family and immediate
relatives. Miss Precilla Wachholz sang "Oh where is the Home of
the Soul to be Found" as a solo, Miss Wachholz and Mrs. C. F.
Schauffer sang a duet in German, a translation of a confirmation
hymn entitled, "Jesus Lead the Way." Miss Elvada Nitschke served
as accompanist and also played the Funeral marches. Burial in
Sterling Riverside Cemetery.
He is survived by his beloved wife Pauline Bauder, Five
daughters, Mrs. Bertha Stahlecker of Pueblo, Mrs. Nettie
McMilian of Fleming, Mrs. Emma Sukey, Mrs. Lenore Wilcox, and
Mrs. Alma Lane, all of Sterling; Four sons, Jake of Fleming, Ted
of Sterling, Rudolph of Kennewick, Washington, George of Denver;
two brothers, Fred and Gottlieb of Burlington; three sisters,
Mrs. Katie Maas, of Golden, Mrs. Christine Ramsey of Portland,
Oregon, Mrs. Sam Schaal of Bethune, Cob. and 15 grand children
and 2 great grandchildren.

Emma Marie Suckey, 94, of Sterling, died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2001, in
Sterling.
Visitation is today until 6 p.m. at Chaney-Reager Funeral Home.
Funeral services are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Faith United
Methodist Church with the Rev. David Burnett officiating. Burial
will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Suckey was born April 12, 1907 in Leroy to Jacob and Pauline
(Frank) Bauder. She attended school in the Leroy area. On Nov. 28,
1928, she married Albert Suckey. They lived and farmed in the Leroy
area until moving to Fleming where they continued farming. They
moved to the Fyffe community in 1949 where they farmed until her
husband Albert died in 1972. She sold the farm and moved to
Sterling. She was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church and
the Methodist. Women's group in the church. She enjoyed cooking,
sewing and was always willing to help oth She is survived by two
daughters, Leota J. Kestler and husband Donald of Greeley, and Kay
Volpe and husband David of Greeley; one brother, George Bauder of
Sterling, two sisters, Alma Lane of Sterling and Lenora Wilcox and
husband Lloyd of Sterling; eight grandchildren and 14 great-
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary
Louise Graber; one grandchild, sisters Nettie McMillan and Bertha
Steckhler, and brothers Jake, Ted and Rudolph Bauder. Memorials can
be made to the Faith United Methodist Church.

Jacob G. Bauder, 87, of Sterling, died Wednesday, March 17, 1999, in
Sterling.
Visitation and viewing will be Friday, March 19, from noon until 8
p.m. at Chaney Walters Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at
10:30 am. Saturday, March 20, at First English Lutheran Church, with
the Rev. Andrew Dimit officiating. Burial will be at Sunset Memorial
Gardens.
Mr. Bauder was born on Aug. 22, 1911 to Jacob and Pauline (Frank)
Bauder in Leroy.
He lived and farmed in the Leroy and Kelly areas.
On June 25, 1938 he married Emma Albrandt in Sterling.
Mr. Bauder was employed by Hydrotex for several years.
He retired in 1989 and moved to Sterling.
He was a member of the First English Lutheran Church. He enjoyed
making windmills and horseshoe planters, fishing, bowling, and
farming.
Mr. Bauder is survived by his wife, Emma Bauder, of Sterling; three
sons, Charles Bauder and wife Sylvia, and Larry Bauder and wife
Linda, all of Sterling, and Jerry Bauder and wife Jean of Leroy; a
daughter, Sharon Wilson and husband Dave of Greeley; three sisters,
Lenora Wilcox and Alma Lane, both of Sterling, and Emma Suckey of
Greeley; a brother, George Bauder of Denver; 10 grandchildren, and
seven great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First English Lutheran
Church.

George B. Bauder, 93, Sterling, was born on Jan. 1, 1914 in
Sterling, and died on Fri., Jan. 26, 2007 in Sterling.
Funeral services were held on Tues., Jan. 30, 2007 at the Chaney-Reager
Funeral Home in Sterling with burial following in the Riverside
Cemetery.
He was preceded in death by three brothers: Rudolph Bauder, Ted
Bauder and Jake Bauder; and four sisters: Bertha Stahlecker, Emma
Suckey Smith, Nettie McMillan and Lenora Wilcox.
Mr. Bauder is survived by one sister, Alma Lane of Sterling; and
numerous nieces and nephews.
Alma Dorothy Lane, 92, of Sterling, died Nov. 6, 2011, in Sterling.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 9, at
Chaney-Reager Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m.
Thursday, Nov. 10, at the Berean Church, with the Rev. Daniel A.
Holsten officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery.
Mrs. Lane was born Jan. 12, 1919, in Sterling to Jacob and Pauline
(Frank) Bauder. She grew up on a farm southeast of Sterling. She
graduated from Harding High School in 1936.
She worked at Journal Office Supply from 1956 until 1959, then
worked for the county commissioners, retiring July 30, 1982.
On Aug. 14, 1939, she married Ralph W. Lane in Sidney, Neb.
Mrs. Lane was a member of Faith United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Dorothy Albrandt and husband Don of
Sterling; son, Elton Lane and wife Carroll of Sterling;
grandchildren, Shawn Lane and wife Lori of Flagstaff, Ariz., Cristen
Wheeler and husband Ronnie of Sterling, Richard Albrandt and wife
Donna of Brighton; great-grandchildren, Regan and Matthew Wheeler of
Sterling and Kennedy and Lauren Lane of Flagstaff.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Lane in
1985; four brothers and four sisters.
