"Greeley, Colo., Sept 16, 1910 "What is believed to be the grave of the famous scout and Indian hunter, Lupton, after whom the government fort and the town of Fbrt Lupton were named, has been discovered on the ranch of John Wallace, on the Platte river near the townslte of Fort Lupton. The grave may be opened in hope of securing proof that it is the burial place of the famous Lupton, and if so the town will erect a monuument over it."
