October 1881 Denver "John C. Strahorn, of the Union Pacific, and wife go to Georgetown to-day and will proceed to North Platte, Nebraska, their home, to-morrow. The “Resources of Idaho,” a work of 100 pages, which the Idaho legislature employed Robert E. Strahorn to write, will have a gratuitous circulation of 40,000 copies. "
November 1881 Denver "Mr. 8. F. Donnelly, managing editor of the Omaha
Daily Telegram and Mr. Fred. Nye, associate editor of the Omaha Republican,
with Mrs. Kimball, also of Omaha and Mrs. Robert E. Strahorn, arrived
over the Omaha and Denver Short Line last night. They were met at Sterling
by Mr. Strahorn and with him last night occupied a box at the Tabor Grand.
Our Omaha friends express themselves as highly pleased with the new railroad,
and they are thoroughly captivated by Denver's opera house.
Messrs. Donnelly and Nye are at the Windsor and Mrs. Kimball is the guest
of Mr. and Mrs. Strahorn."

who has for a year or more been running an engine between North Plane and
Sidney, has recently been placed in charge of the Union Pacific
round-house and shop at Sterling, on the Omaha Short Line."

April 1885 Sterling "The dance at the rink on Tuesday night
was well attended and enjoyed by all. The first part of the
evening was spent in skating. Dancing was begun at 9 o'clock.
Among the ladies present were the following: Miss Ada McGee,
Mrs. L. N. Miller, Miss Blanche Borger, Miss Susie Wilson,
Mrs. A. W. Wright, Miss Clark, Mrs. Strahorn, Miss Ella Sutherland,
Miss Fanny Lamplaugh, of North Platte, and Mrs. Tobin, of Iliff.
Excellent music was furnished bv Messrs. W. F. Propst, W. C. Propst,
William Luke, Bruce Tarkington, William Seymour and R. Shelly."
April 1885 "At the election on Tuesday, the following ticket was elected
without any opposition: mayor, John C. Strahorn, recorder, John Alexander,
trustees Jas. M. King, Andrew J. Weir, John E. Wallace, and L. Henderson. "
