making their first annual proofs on their desert claims.
Their land lays under the North Sterling irrigation system between Crook

Herbert E. Johnson, Harry Kelly, Win. McPhee, Joseph P. Dunn,
James A. McSwigan, Thomas Mainland, James O’Conner,

Born to Clark Buckingham and Lemira Couch Buckingham, Hattie was an allied member of John and Betty More's David line. Her mother died just months after she was born and she was raised at New Haven, Connecticut by her father, a paper bag maker at that place. Hattie married to George T. More on 10 June 1891 and they made their home first at Boise, Idaho where her husband was a lumber mill lumber piler. They returned to New Haven about 1900 where her husband was a farmer. They relocated to Kalispell, Montana after 1902 and where they divorced in 1908. Hattie married next to Frank J. Andross on 14 February 1910 at Kalispell. They made their home at Spokane, Washington where her husband was a piano commercial traveler. He died and Hattie married last to U. G. Mosier on 7 April 1927 at Spokane. He was a restaurant keeper and she was a saleslady. Her younger son, a mechanic in 1940, resided with her. Hattie and her first husband, George, were the parents of two children, Harold Buckingham More and Paul Clifford Paul. She had no children with her second and third husbands..
1902 Ault, Colorado " We hear that Mr. Shannon of Cheyenne,
who has bought out Mr. Patton, will put up several houses for rent."
October 1902 Rocky Mountain News "A very pretty wedding was solemnized
Tuesday, at noon, in the presence of a few intimate friends,
at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Shannon, Greeley, Colo., when Mr.
Shannon's sister, Mattie Shannon, married Robert A. Mosier,
Rev. Rupe officiating. The bride is prominent in social circles of Eaton,
where she has resided for a number of years. The groom's home is in
Des Moines, Ia., and he is a graduate of the Drake university.
Mr. and Mrs. Mosier will be at home to their friends in Denver after
November 1. U. G. Mosier of Denver is a brother of the groom,
and two years ago he was married to the only sister of the bride."
(In 1913, one of the entries for a Colorado state song was "Mattie Shannon Mosier, who wrote "In the Shadow of the Colorado Pine Trees.")
In November 1902 Denver, a Christian Endeavor meeting included entertainment.
1903 Ault " Lettie Frye was eight years old last Tuesday,
so Mrs. Shannon, Lettie's aunt, gave her a party Tuesday evening.
All the children in Lottie's room at school were invited,
and they had a fine time playing till supper time, when they were treated
to ice cream and cake, after which they all went home wishing they had an "Aunt Nan."

November 1907 Ault "The frieuds of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Shannon gave
them a farewell surprise party at the Congregational church after prayer
meeting Wednesday night of last week. Refreshments were served,
and Mr. and Mrs. Shannon were presented with a nice carving set.
They left for their new home in Morrill, Neb."
July 1908 Ault "John Frye and Otis, have gone to Morrill, Neb., for a visit with C. W. Shannon and family."
May 1909 " The news of Mrs. Martha Shannon's death followed soon after
the announcement that she had suffered another stroke of paralysis,
and the funeral services were held Tuesday morning from Ault Congregation
church and interment made in the Eaton cemetery. Deceased waa 65 years of
age and has been making her home with a son, W. C. Shannon, a farmer
living in the Collins district. About a year ago she suffered a paralytic
shock and the second one came about two weeks ago.
Her death occurred Saturday night. She was the widow of John Shannon,
whose death occurred 27 years ago. She leaves three sons and two daughters.
The sons are W. C., who lives at Ault, Richard of Greeley and Will J.
of Denver. The daughters are Mrs. Mary Moahlcr of Denver and Mrs. Mattie
Moshier of Ault. She also leaves several grandchildren.
Deceased came to Colorado from Greenfield, Mo., fourteen years ago."

In 1920 Fort Collins, Welsley Shannon is a school janitor,
35, born in Missouri of Danish parents, Nancy 37 born in Illinois
of Ohio parents, Lottie Foster, niece is 25, divorced, a hospital cook,
born in Missouri, and her son John 8, born in Colorado.
November 1923 " John Frye returned Sunday evening
to the H. M. England home, after visiting in Fort Collins a fortnight at
the C. W Shannon home. Mrs. Lettie Foster and Pierce Cooksey brought
Mr. Frye over and were supper guests at England's."
December 1923 Ault, Colorado "Mrs. Gus Anderson and Evelyn England took
their grandfather, John Frye, to Fort Collins,
Sunday, where he will visit at the Wess Shannon home."
September 1924 Ault, Colorado " Mr. and Mrs. Will Washer visited at C. W. Shannon's in Fort Collins Monday. "
November 1924 "Eldon Fry is living with Mr. and
Mrs. C. W. Shannon in Fort Collins, and attending high school.
He had been a student in the Ault school until about two weeks ago."

guests of their uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Shannon."

April 1931 Fort Collins "Mrs. Nancy Shannon 6b died Sunday afternoon
in Chicago of cancer, according to Information received in
Fort Collins by friends. The body will arrive here Wednesday,
and burial will be made beside the grave of her husband Shannon who died
Feb. 25 1930 in Fort Collins.
For the past year Mrs. Shannon has been living in
Chicago with her niece, Mrs. Lattie Foster.
She had been ill for some time before her death.
Mr. Shannon was a former janitor of tho Junior High school and the
couple lived here for ten years, ooming from Ault, Coto.
Mrs. Shannon is survived by a sister, Mrs. Washer, who resides st Ault.
Funrral arrangements have not been tompleted."

February 1977 Fort Collins " A graveside service was held Wednesday at
Grandview Cemetery for Lettie J. Foster, 82, of Wheatland, a
former resident of Fort Collins. She died Sunday at a Laramie nursing home.
She was born Jan. 20, 1895, in Missouri. She worked in the restaurant
business and for several fraternities and sororities in the Fort
Collins area for more than 20 years before she moved to Wyoming in 1959.
She is survived by a son, John W. Foster of Nevada; a granddaughter, and two great-grandchildren."
