In July 1923, "Mrs. Harry L. Scott and children will accompany Mrs. Scott's mother, Mrs. C. A. Clay, to her home in Minneapolis. August 1, for a stay of a year, where the children will attend school. Mr. Scott has been located at Casper, Wyo. for some time and Mrs. Scott will remain with her mother until further arrangements as to their home will be made. Mrs. Clay has been visiting in Sterling for the past two months. "

May 1913 Sterling "Walter Scott is acting yardmaster during Mr. Gurlcy's absence."

Walter claimed 40 acres in section 28, 8N 52W in 1913.

In 1916 Walter was delinquent on taxes for that tract and a lot in Sterling.

" H. L. Scott will leave this evening for Minneapolis. His wife has been confined to her bed in Minneapolis and the husband has gone to join her. He was accompanied by his brother, W. J. Scott. "

September 1916 "H. S. and Walter Scott left Saturday afternoon for Minneapolis. Minn., where they will visit Mrs. H. S. Scott, who has been there for some time receiving special medical care. They will visit friends and relatives at various points before returning to Sterling.
Mrs. Scott's condition was somewhat improved, according to last reports. Mrs. C. A. Clay, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. H. S. Scott, at Minneapolis. Minn., for the past few weeks, returned to her home in Sterling Saturday evening. "

June 13, 1918 "Walter J. Scott of Sterling and Miss Jessie Russell of Fort Morgan, were married at the home of the bride's sister, Mrs. A. E. Kahl, of Fort Morgan, on Wednesday, June 5th, Rev. Robinson of the Presbyterian church performing the ceremony. The wedding was a quiet one, and was witnessed by Mr. and Mrs. Harry Scott of Sterling, brother and sister-in-law of the groom. The groom is a well known Sterling boy, the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Scott, and a conductor on the C. B. & Q. railway, and the bride is a very estimable young lady of Fort Morgan. The young couple returned to Sterling Friday evening, where they will make their home."

March 1919 " Walter Scott, who about two weeks ago was severely injured while doing work as brakeman near Dalton, Nebraska, is recovering very satisfactorily from his injuries, and was brought to the home of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Scott, Saturday."

January 1924 Sterling "Mr. and Mrs. Walter Scott left today for their home at Salt Lake City, after spending the Christmas holidays in Sterling."

July 1924

August 1924 " Walter Scott of Portland, Ore., arrived here Friday to look after matters •of business. Mr. Scott is a guest at the Hotel Graham."

Walter - a railroad conductor - and Jessie are in Salt Lake City in 1940 and 1950.

1891 "J. C. Scott now has charge of the hotel in Sterling formerly known as the Sterling House. Mr. Scott has thoroughly renovated the building and fitted It up In a neat and tasty manner, ife has changed the name to the American Hotel. A good table is set and the hotel Is run in firstclass shape"

May 1890 "Walter Scott went up to Cheyenne Sunday and returned Monday. Walt is getting to be quite a traveler and the boys are thinking seriously of . sending him on a trip around the earth."
