"After traveling from Canada, and Nebraska, Archie Scott found a wife in Alaska and finally settled in Rocky Ford. In 1909 he and Sophia moved to the eastern edge of Logan County in the Haxtun area and purchased 320 acres. A small white house near the windmill became their home and it was here that their son Lyle was born that year. Archie helped establish the nearby town of Dailey in 1914. In 1918 their mail order Sears home arrived and piece by piece was constructed on the land. That same year Archie became a state Senator traveling every week to Denver and returning on weekends to take care of the farm. Lyle enjoyed farming and decided to continue on the farm, marrying Jessie Whitney in 1931 and acquired title of the property in 1949. Son Wayne joined the farming operation in 1957 and that August married his high school sweetheart Doris Jean Schaefer. After Lyle's death in 1962 the land was conveyed to Wayne and Doris in 1968, the same year an irrigated sprinkler system was introduced to the operation.
