"Fredonia Sanders Brown was born in Sterling, Colorado, October 7, 1888. She died at Omaha, Nebraska, November 29,1918.
She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Sanders, who were among the first to come to this country, having come here in 1873. These thirty years of Fredonia's life have been full of sunshine and sweetness, for she was known only to be loved, and her whole life seemed to be one of loving ministry. Selfishness was almost a lost chord in the music of her life, and the happiness and welfare of others always claimed the major place in her thought and in her effort.
Practically her entire life has been lived in this community. Only last summer, June the 2nd, did the happy consummation come to the day dreams of her life, such as sooner or later come to every youthful spirit, in the love romance that ended in her marriage to Mr. E. A. Brown. Scarce five months of wedded bliss, and then the dread disease that is sweeping the land laid its hand upon her, and in a few days the spirit was gone and the body it had inhabited and beautified was left cold and still.
Loving hearts are bowed with sorrow today. The husband feels that he is helpless and alone. The father and mother are bereft of one who was the idol of their hearts. While three brothers, Newton, Samuel and Charley, will experience a heartbreak that only those can know who are called upon to part company with one as near and dear as was this sister of theirs. "
