May 1896 " John Moler, a mining man of Leadville,
arrived in Telluride yesterday from Saw Pit, where he has
been examining mining property on behalf of capitalists. He thinks
the owners of claims in that district appraise them at a
figure entirely too high, and were it not for this fact,
the place would become popular on the outside more rapidly,
and monied men would invest in some of the mines."
