In 1885 Weld County (on the same page as many Sterling people) J.A. Duffy is 24, a druggist, born in Ohio, father in Ireland. He's boarding for Geo and Sarah Wilson, 40's with Susie 15 born in Nebraska.

August 1884 Brush, Colorado "The dance Saturday night waa a success; twenty-six members out. We noticed in the crowd Mr. J. M. Duffy, of the Duffy Bros., of Sterling, also Messrs. John Gilbertson and Tom Mitchell of Brush. "

Joseph claimed forty acres in section 33, 8N 52W in 1886.

In 1904 Denver, Joseph Duffy is a machinist, living at 3541 Wynkoop. At the same address is C.F. Duffy, an aprentice for the Colorado Iron Works Company.

October 1917 Sterling " J. Duffy, who was with the C. B. & Q. railroad here for years and who went to work for the same company in Denver, is back again in Sterling and his many friends are glad to see him. "

Joseph Michael Duffey

M. J. Duffey, son of John Duffey and Sarah Feighen, married Susie Quinn, daughter of Thomas, on 30 Sep 1885 in Lincoln, Lancaster County, Nebraska.

William Quinn, 36, Susan 6, and Mary Jane 4 arrived in New York from Liverpool on June 14, 1869.

"Katte(?) and Thomas Duffy, children of J M Duffy appear in the 1896 Sarpy County School Census, district 37.
Joseph worked for the B&MR Railroad. The family appears in the 1898 Omaha city directory, and descendants have been in Omaha ever since.

Mary Jane Quinn, daughter of William Quin and Anne Cunningham, married Arthur Murphy, born in Wisconsin to Arthur Murphy and Johanna Sullivan, in 1881 in Livingston County, Illinois.

Mary Jane, born February 1865 in Ireland, and Arthur Murphy are in Butgler County, Nebraska ina 1900, married 19 years.

Their children were Sarah (Sadie), Thomas, Arthur, Ellen, Richard, Alice, Agnes and Bernice.Several other children died young."

In 1900 Omaha, Joseph is a srailroad section foreman, born September 1854 in Ireland, immigrating 1860, Susie April 1862, also in Ireland, immigrating in 1867. She's had eleven kids, seven living. All seven were born in Nebraska.
