ARTHUR
Arthur Scott Ayres was born October 5, 1884 in
Dickinson County, Kansas
Clay Center, Kansas Dispatch
"Miss Olive May Magill, of Hayden , N. M., married Arthur Scott Ayers of Talmage
on 15 Feb 1912 at the bride's parents near
Broughton
.
Joseph Magill, a widely known resident of this county, died Monday night at 10:30 o'clock at the home in Gill township, at the age of sixty-two years. A year ago last October Mr. Magill was in the Clay Center hospital for some time, and at that time a limb was amputated. He had practically recovered from that operation and had been in rather good health until about a months ago, when the other limb became effected as did the one which was amputated. Brights disease was the cause of death.
The deceased came to this county from the state of Indiana over forty years ago. At that time he settled in Gill township and ever after was a resident in that community. Besides being engaged in farming Mr Magill conducted a blacksmith business at this country home and was engaged in the threshing business. He became known hroughout the neighborhood through business interests as a man of honest dealings and was ever regarded with respect and esteem by his fellow citizens. Since his settlement in the county he has been identified with its progress and was thoroughly respected for those characteristics that denote the true man and honest citizen.
Besides the surviving wife, five daughters, Mrs. Lamey and Mrs. Scott Ayres, both of New Mexico; Mrs. Cora Knepper of Arizona; Mrs. Alvin Machmer of Gill township; and Miss Emma, still at the parental home, mourn this death. Mrs. Knepper, on account of sickness in her family was unable to attend the funeral.
The funeral services were held this morning, Thursday, at the home at 10 o'clock and later at the Mizpah church. Burial was made in the Mizpah cemetery.
