April 15, 1908 Abilene, Kansas " Fannie E. Ayres died at her home near Buckeye, on Thursday forenoon of pneumonia, having been sick nearly two weeks. She leaves a husband and seven children to mourn their loss. Mrs. Ayres was born in Franklin County, Indiana, August 25, 1872, and died April 9, aged years, 7 months and 14 days. She was united in marriage to W. S. Ayres July 4, 1870, to which union were born four sons and three daughters. Her membership was held in tbe Dunkard church, which church privileges she enjoyed to tbe close. Her family bad confidence in her religion. As a neighbor she was esteemed very highly by all. Funeral services were held at the home, Friday afternoon, at 2:30 p. m., Rev. A. Siebert officiating. Interment in Henry cemetery."

December 30, 1933 Emporia, Kansas " Irving Garfield Ayres, who lived on Route 5, died at 11:20 o'clock Friday night at the Newman Memorial County hospital, after week's sickness. Mr. Ayres had lived in Lyon county for the past five years.
He was born in Dickinson county, Kansas, February 11, 1882. His parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Ayres.
He is survived by three brothers, H. C. Ayres and A. J. Ayres, Emporia, and A. 8. Ayres, Norton, and three sisters, Mrs. D. F. Ayers, Abilene; Miss Rose Olive Ayres and Mrs. Mattie Jane Sword, Emporia.
Funeral services will be at 2:30 o'clock Sunday afternoon at Chapman church near Buckeye, 11 miles northeast of Abilene. Interment will be in Hinry cemetery near Abilene. The casket will be open at the Roberts-Blue funeral chapel until 9:30 o'clock Sunday morning."

ARTHUR

Arthur Scott Ayres was born October 5, 1884 in Dickinson County, Kansas

Clay Center, Kansas Dispatch "Miss Olive May Magill, of Hayden , N. M., married Arthur Scott Ayers of Talmage on 15 Feb 1912 at the bride's parents near Broughton .

Joseph Magill, a widely known resident of this county, died Monday night at 10:30 o'clock at the home in Gill township, at the age of sixty-two years. A year ago last October Mr. Magill was in the Clay Center hospital for some time, and at that time a limb was amputated. He had practically recovered from that operation and had been in rather good health until about a months ago, when the other limb became effected as did the one which was amputated. Brights disease was the cause of death.
The deceased came to this county from the state of Indiana over forty years ago. At that time he settled in Gill township and ever after was a resident in that community. Besides being engaged in farming Mr Magill conducted a blacksmith business at this country home and was engaged in the threshing business. He became known hroughout the neighborhood through business interests as a man of honest dealings and was ever regarded with respect and esteem by his fellow citizens. Since his settlement in the county he has been identified with its progress and was thoroughly respected for those characteristics that denote the true man and honest citizen.
Besides the surviving wife, five daughters, Mrs. Lamey and Mrs. Scott Ayres, both of New Mexico; Mrs. Cora Knepper of Arizona; Mrs. Alvin Machmer of Gill township; and Miss Emma, still at the parental home, mourn this death. Mrs. Knepper, on account of sickness in her family was unable to attend the funeral.
The funeral services were held this morning, Thursday, at the home at 10 o'clock and later at the Mizpah church. Burial was made in the Mizpah cemetery.
