The country all laid open then and the first wire fence they saw was the colony fence enclosing the lands of J. M. and M. C. King, Allen Sanders, Ed and Marion Smith, R. C. Perkins, Mrs. M. E. Ayres, Hugh and Ed Davis and Uncle D. B. Davis, 2 1/4 miles below Sterling."
