On May 9 1888 Meade County, Kansas Aaron B. Russell married Jessie Bennett.

Aaron is still there in 1900, born Jan 1859 in Indiana, farming, married to Jessie Dec 1865 Indiana.  SHe's had two kids, none living.

Samuel Bennett, born Sep 15, 1838, died Aug 11, 1923 in Meade County, Kansas.

He was the son of James and Ruth Whitehead Bennett and the grandson of John and Nancy McCarty Bennett. James and Ruth Whitehead Bennett married in Cape May, New Jersey and eventually moved to Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana, where Samuel was born.

Samuel was the 2nd of 4 children born to James and Ruth. His siblings were Aaron S., Jesse (married Mary Cresse) and Julia Elma Bennett (married George C. Bull/Buhl - she is buried in Turon Cemetery, Reno, Kansas).

He married Margaret F. Morris August 6, 1864 in Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. They settled in Tippecanoe County where children Jessie (Mrs. Aaron Russell), Frank I. and Mary (Mrs. Ross Drinnen) were born. Daughter Ruth (Mrs. William Harris) was born in White County, Indiana.

Samuel heard the call of the wild in 1887 and moved the family to Meade County, Kansas where he was a good friend and fellow citizen engaged in farming, politics and insurance. Samuel was always straight forward, honest and honorable in all his work. he took an active part in every undertaking having for its object the betterment of his community. In the church, the school and the social life, he played a prominent part. His influence in these issues in Meade and Fowler, Kansas were also felt, and both cities claimed his as their own.

ANOTHER POSSIBLE, less likely: In 1885 Van Buren County, Iowa,   Allen and Nancy Russell have Lizzie 20, Saran 18, Aaron is 17, Simon G. 13, and Allen 11.

In 1895 Van Buren County Allen Russel 65 and Nancy 60 have Aaron 27 and Allen 21.

In 1900 Van Buren County, Iowa Aaron Russell born Jan 1868 in Iowa is a farmer with Allen  70 Pennsylvania and Nancy 64 Kentucky.  Brothers Perry Sep 1854 Pennsylvania is a day laborer and Allen Jr. Dec 1874 a farmer

Next household is Simon 25 with a wife and two kids.

In 1910 Butte, Montana, Aaron is a laborer, rooming with a dozen other laborers.

Allen Russell was born June 2nd, 1829, in Venango county, Penn., moved to Iowa in 1861, and died at Pittsburg, Iowa, Jan. 31st, 1917, aged 87 years, 7 months and 24 days. He was married July 4th, 1853, to Louisa Perry, who died April 2nd, 1859. To that union two children were born, Perry, who resided in Vancouver, Wash., and Wilson A., who died about two years ago. June 26th, 1859, he was united in marriage with Nancy E. Brent, who departed this life Jan. 7th, 1916. To this union were born five children, Elizabeth, who died in 1902; Sarah L. Gardner of Ottumwa, Iowa; Aaron of Montana; Simon G. and Allen of Pittsburg, Iowa. Mr. Russell united with the M. E. church at Lebanon, and gave his services to the building and repairing of several churches of the county. About a year ago he was badly hurt by a fall on the ice, and from that time was a constant sufferer, until his release came on the evening of Jan. 31st, when he passed to his reward. Uncle Allen was a good neighbor and his removal will be felt by a number of friends. The funeral services were held in the Pittsburg church and the interment was in the Pittsburg cemetery, Rev. J. J. Brabbs officiating.
