James G. Reed

James cash-claimed  a quarter in 33, 8N 48W in 1891.  His heirs completed a timber claim in 32 in 1896, so he must have died in the 1890's.

One James Reed is in 1880 Denver on Champa Street, a bookkeeper in a boarding house, 30, born in Canada of Scotch parents.  Two households down is the Wm. Gilpin family, 57,  - occupation "ex-Governor of Colo."

In 1880 Fort Collins, James W. Reed is a carpenter, 43, born in England, with Ormie, 30, Delaware.  A carpenter and a painter are boarding with them, so they're enterprising people.
