Albert D. Garber, father Hezekiah Garber

Albert cash-claimed a quarter in sections 20 and  29, 8N 48W in 1891,   proved up 80 acres  in 32, 8N 48W in 1895, and timber-claimed a quarter in 31 in 1901.

Hezekiah proved up a quarter in 30, 8N 48W in 1893, and his heirs completed a timber claim in 30 in 1903.

1900 Sterling "Hez Garber and Thomas Simpson, prominent Frenchmanites, were in the hub to-day."


In 1900 Logan COunty, Hezekiah, born December 1862, married 14 years to Sarah A. October 1866, both born in Iowa, have Harrison M. May 1888, Nora B. August 1890, Silvie E. Nov 1892, Elsie G. May 1865, and albert L. Dec 1899, all kids born in Colorado.

Hezekiah is buried in the Haxtun cemetery, his wife Sarah in Loveland - Mrs. John H. Messenger.

Albert is buried in the Brush cemetery 1899-1972.

Miller, Elsie Gertrude, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hezekiah Garber, was born May 4, 1895, near Haxtun, Colo., and died at her home in Whittier, Calif., Feb. 3, 1937, following a brief illness. She married Jacob Miller of Sterling, Colo., Nov. 19, 1914. To this union three children were born. The family moved to Whittier, Calif., in September, 1919, where they had resided since. Her father preceded her thirty-seven years ago. She leaves her husband and three children, her mother and stepfather, Mr. and Mrs. J. H. Messenger, two sisters and four brothers. Nora Belle (Garber) Harnish  1890-1980 is buried with George 1880-1955 in Fleming
