September 7, 1911 Red Cloud Nebraska " John Ferguson died at the family home Tuesday afternoon after weeks of illness with stomach trouble.  Besides his wife he leaves one son, Albert Ferguson and six daughters, the Misses Della, Anna and Irene Ferguson, Mrs. Mae One and Mrs. Blanche Burr of Guide Rock, and Mrs. Mattie Hamilton of Red Cloud.

In the Fort Morgan cemetery are John W. Ferguson 1853-1938 and Sarah E. Ferguson 1862-1945  Her parents are Levi and Margaret Parkins buried in Ringgold County, Iowa.
