In 1870 Randolph County Martha, 62 has Martha A. 27, Hugh S. 23 and Alexander P. 20. One tree said Alexander Porter Baird married Mary Toulouse Nov 17, 1870 in Randolph County, and that she was born there in 1852, and that A.P married Martha E. Oliver March 3, 1883 in Randolph County. There were a lot of A.P. Barid's, so perhaps the trees were mentioning two different A.P's.

FORT GRATIOT, Mich. — Betty M. Satchell, 90, formerly of Bayard,
passed away Sunday, May 22, 2011, at her home in Fort Gratiot, Mich.
A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m., June 25, at the
Veteran’s circle in the Bayard, Nebraska Cemetery with Pastor
Carolyn Dickenson officiating. There will be no visitation, as
cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established to the Bayard
Public Library.
Betty was born July 18, 1920, in Bayard, the daughter of Alec and
Margaret (Hanigan) Baird. She was raised and educated at Bayard,
graduated from Bayard High School with the Class of 1937. Betty
received her teaching certificate from Colorado State Teachers
College at Greeley, Colo. and also attended the former Scottsbluff
Junior College. Betty was united in marriage to Chester “Chet”
Satchell, June 26, 1941, at Bayard. They made Greenwood, Redington,
Banner County and Red Willow communities their home. She taught at
rural schools, clerked in various stores, and retired from the First
National Bank at Bayard after many years of service. She also
settled many estates.
She attended and participated in activities at community Sunday
Schools. Betty was a member of the Presbyterian Church at Bayard
from the age of 12. She served on the Morrill County Extension,
Panhandle Community Service, Bayard Cemetery, Bayard Public Library
Board, Public Schools Alumni Association and the Bayard City
Council. Betty spent many hours tutoring children and teaching G.E.D.
classes, judged oratorical contests, called Bingo at Chimney Rock
Villa and worked on Boy Scout Merit Badges. Betty was a member of
the Lincoln Stone American Legion Post 200 Auxiliary, 8 & 40, Lions
Club, many bowling leagues and pinochle clubs.
Survivors include her son, Charles (Sheri) Satchell of Marysville,
Mich.; grandchildren, Kristy (Scott) Myers of Lake Orion, Mich.,
Marcola (Ryan) Blahosky of Durant, Iowa, Nicole (Greg) Searls of
Cheyenne, Wyo., Cole (Elizabeth) Satchell of Independence, Mo.;
sister-in-law, Beth Baird; daughter-in-law, Twila Satchell; numerous
nieces, nephews and great-grandchildren.
Preceding Betty in death was her husband, Chester Satchell; parents,
Alec and Margaret Baird; brothers, Jack and Alec Baird; son, James
Satchell; and sister, Helen Shaffer.

HEREFORD, ARIZONA – Helen M. (Baird) Reichert
Schaffer, 88 was called to her Lord on March 9, 2010
for her final resting place. Graveside inurnment
services will be held on Saturday August 14, 2010 at
1:00 p.m. at the Veterans Circle in the Bayard
Cemetery with Father Dave Rykwalder officiating for
Helen’s family and friends. Military honors will be
provided by the Nebraska National Guard.
Helen was born January 21, 1922 in Bridgeport to Alec and Margaret Baird. Helen graduated from the Michael Reese School of Nursing in Chicago as a Registered Nurse; she joined the U.S. Army Nurse Corps. She served in Europe with the 5
