Idaho Springs, April 28, 1902 "Israel Woodward, formerly a resident of this city, died at St. Luke's hospital in Denver last Saturday. The funeral was held in Denver from the home. Deceased had done much toward building up Idaho Springs in the pioneer days. "
"Israel Woodward, a former resident of this city for many years, died Saturday. April 11, 1902,
at Saint Luke's Hospital, Denver. Colorado, age 67 years. The funeral was held from the family residence,
4463 Vine St., Monday, April 21. Interment occurred at Riverside Cemetery.
The deceased married Miss Jennie Bell of Aurora. Illinois, about forty years ago.
He leaves a wife two sons, Dr. J. C. Woodward of Denver, Colo. and Dr. I. R. Woodward of Payette, Idaho.
One son, Burton, died in infancy,
The service at the house and that which was held later at the Pilgrim Congregational Church,
was marked by strict simplicity. The casket was buried in floral offering and was borne by six pallbearers.
With four of these, Henry Choate, Lewis Garson, Chas. Patten, and Edward Fonda,
the dead man had been associated for more than twenty years. He had fought the Indians and endured
and enjoyed the hardship and adventure of early frontier life. He had his part in the upbuilding
of Idaho Springs. Here be builded his home and reared his family to manhood.
He was true and faithful to wife and sons. May he rest in peace."

and To Whom It May Concern: Notice is hereby given that the above entitled cause is set down for
hearing upon the petition of Jesse C. Woodward for the determination of interests in and to the
lands of which Israel Woodward died seised and possessed, which said lands are described as follows:
to-wit: The Northeast Quarter (NE%) of Section Twenty-two (22), Township Seven (7) North,
Range Fifty-four (54) West of the Sixth Principal Meridian in Logan County, Colorado, and that the
hearing upon said petition will he had on the 9th day of September, 1918,
at the hour of ten o'clock A. M. in Chambers of the said District Court, at Sterling. Colorado.
You are further hereby notified that by the verified petition herein filed,
It is claimed by the petitioner that Jennie Woodward, widow. Ira Richard Woodward, son.
and Jesse Charles Woodward, son, all of tpe city of Payette, in the state of Idaho, are the
sole and only heirs of said decedent and that decree Is sought by said petitioner finding said
persons to be the onlv heirs. All persons claiming any right shall have until said day and said
hour to answer and make their appearance. If no answer or appearance is filed,
decree will he entered in accordance with the prayer of said petitioner.

and his mother, went to Denver this morning to attend the medical graduating exercises of Denver
university. Mr. Woodward's elder brother, Ira R. Woodward, graduates today from that institution. "

"Dr. Ira Richard Woodward, 80, of Payette,
a pioneer Idaho physician, died unexpectedly Friday
morning in his home. Dr. Woodward had been a practicing
physician in Payette since 1899. He was mayor of Payette
for 22 years, and served on the city council for four
years. He was born May 17, 1874, at West DePere, Wis.,
and lived for a time in Mercur, Utah, after being
graduated from medical school. He moved to Payette in
December, 1899. He was married Dec. 4, 1907,
in Boise to Anna Hastings. He was a 50-year member
of the Masonic lodge, and was a past master of the
Payette lodge. He was a member of the York Rite
bodies and the Shrine, the American Medical
association, the Idaho State Medical association,
and the Southwestern Idaho Medical society.
Surviving, in addition to his wife,
are one son, Dr. Richard Woodward of Payette,
one daughter, Mrs. Jean W. Carter."

May 21, 1897 " Mr. I. Woodward and his son J. C. Woodward, came up from Denver Tuesday evening.
The latter has passed the final examination for the year at the State University in Boulder,
and will attend the medical department in Denver next year."
October 1900 "Dr. J. C. Woodward has completed his medical course in the Denver university
and is now located in Alamosa. Many friends here wish him success. "
August 23, 1901 Idaho Springs " Dr. J.C. Woodward of Alamosa was here for a few days
revisiting the old haunts and finding great improvement in the town and district.
He has a fine practice where he is located, but will soon be looking for a larger field.
His brother, Dr. Ira Woodward, is also enjoying a good practice. He is expecting to visit
Colorado before long. It is the intention of the brothers to become established together at
some future time."
June 17, 1904 "Dr. Jesse C. Woodward, an oldtime Idaho Springs boy, now located in Denver,
was married Wednesday of this week at Cataract, Wisconsin, his bride being Miss Elizabeth Morgan,
a popular young lady of the latter city. Dr. Woodward, who is a graduate of the Idaho Springs high school,
is an illustration of the success which attends earnest and intelligent endeavor in this country.
He is strictly a self-made young man
. Dependent upon his own endeavors for support while studying medicine, he for several terms taught
school at Lawson, finally taking a university course. After receiving his diploma,
he located in the southern part of the state and soon built up a lucrative practice.
But Jesse is ambitious and a few years ago he moved to Denver. It is the wish of many friends here
that happiness and prosperity will attend the young couple. "

in this city this week. The doctor was a resident of this city and Lawson in his younger days."
