September 21, 1909 Salida, Colorado "Mrs. Florenteena Huffman, 69 years of age, died at her home at 332 East Fourth street Saturday evening at 7 o'clock from cancer of the stomach.
She was born in Dutchess county, New York, and came to Salida twenty-five years ago, being well and most favorably known in the city. She was an excellent Christian woman, being a consistent member of the Baptist church and also of the G. A. B. Circle. Though advanced in years and being an almost constant sufferer, she still retained her interest in life and enjoyed the smallest pleasure. Though at all times most reticent regarding her personal affairs, she was yet ever ready to sympathize with others in times of trial and sorrow.
Two children, one of whom was Mrs. Addie Coats, who died in Salida several years ago, and Mrs. Rosa Longfellow of Denver, are well acquainted in Salida, the latter being with her mother at the time of her death, as were also numerous kind and sympathetic friends, who had comforted and administered to her wants during her last illness.
Funeral services were held at yesterday morning, being conducted by Rev. Morphy of the Baptist church at 10 o'clock, and the remains were interred at Fairview cemetery."

CARD OF THANKS

Morphy, Mrs. J. G. Miller, Mrs. Rutherford, Mrs. McGee and Mrs. Julia Welch, and to assure them that their goodness has not only been a great comfort in the time of trouble, but that the Christian spirit of loving kindness accompanying these acts have done much to assuage the sorrow that was ours.
