October 1909 Sterling " J. R. Sheely was in town over Sunday and informed us that he had the contract for bridging the North Sterling ditch and putting in a new dam some place along its line. He says on this account he will be with us quite a little now, of which we are all glad. "

July 1914 Fort Collins "Mrs. C. A. Warford of Springfield, Iowa, who has been visiting her daughter, Mrs. J. R. Sheely, went to BouMer Tuesday for a few weeks visit with other relatives.

Josephus R. Sheely, well-known bridge contractor, died at his home in Fort Collins today, November 3, 1918 following a stroke of paralysis. He was a member of the firm of Rowler & Sheely, which has constructed a number of bridges thruout the state. He was 70 years old.
He is survived by a widow and nine children. They are Charles G. Sheely of Denver, whose, son Corporal James Sheely came here Saturday and left again today for Colorado Springs, where he is in training, Mrs. W. B. Bishop of Merino, Mrs. Grace Dunmire of Scotland, S. D., Mrs. R. E. McLaughlin of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Mrs. Lenore Tomberlin of Merino, Mrs. Howard Nolte of Lake View, Ore.,; Lieut. Ross L. Sheely of Camp Jackson, Mrs. Ralph Bristol of Longmont, and Mrs. Roud McCann of this city."

December 21, 1934 Fort Collins " Pallbearers at the funeral of Charles Sheely Thursday afternoon were Dr. A. Alexander, Kenneth Johnson, 8. Hall, Dr. Floyd Cross, and Harry Hughes. Burial was in Grandview cemetery followlng private service in the Hollowell Memorial chapel, at which Dr. Leon Stewart, pastor of the First Presbyterian church, officiated. Mr. Sheely, who died in San Antonio, Tex., after a successful career as a contractor doing important work thruout the West, was a member of the Denver Elks lodge and of the Blu lodge chapter and commandtry of the Masonic order in Lincoln, Nebr., and of the consistory in San Antonio. Mr. Sheely is survived by his widow, by one son, Art Sheely of Fort Collins, and by one brother and six sisters, Ross Sheely, Fairbanks, Alaska, Mrs. Tomberlin of Merino, Colo., Mrs. Grace Dunmire of South Dakota, "

June 28, 1912 " The marriage of Miss Maude Sheely and Mr. Ralph Bristol, two well known young people of this city, was quietly, though very prettily, solemnized at 2 o'clock this afternoon at the home of the bride's parents, 616 Matthews street. The ceremony was performed by Rev. Nelson Browning of the First Christian church, and was witnessed by 40 guests, relatives of the contracting parties. The young people plighted their troth, standing in front ot a bower of smilax and white roses. The house was attractively decorated with white roses, carnations, ferns and palms. Mendelssohn's wedding march was played by Miss Celia Boston, as the bridal party took their positions. The bride was handsomely gowned in thin white Irish ambroidery trimmnd. Miss Bessie Fuller, as bridesmaid wore thin white trimmed with pink ribbon and carrying pink tea roses. Warren Brlstol, a brother of the groom, was best man.
The bride is a daughter of J. R. Sheely and among the younger social set has been a favorite. She is a young woman of pleasing personality and has a host of friends. The groom is a son of Mrs. J. H. Bristol and a native of Fort Collins. He is foreman at the sugar factory and a young man of sterling worth. Both he and his bride have the good wishes of a large circle of friends. Following the ceremony, refreshments were served, the Misses Dorothy Fuller and Mildred Bristol assisting. Many beautiful gifts were bestowed upon the young couple.
They left on the afternoon train for a two weeks trip over the state. After July 15 they will be at home to their friends at 1220 West Mountain avenue, where a lovely home awaits them.
Among the out-of-town guests were Mre. B. J. Tomberlln and daughter Helen, Mrs. W. E. Bishop and children, Lorlne, Elolse and Charles, all of Merino, Colo.; Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Hlckman of Windsor , Warren Bristol of Sterling, Colo.; Mrs. C. A. Warford of Springvllle, Iowa; Mrs. Carrie Sheely and son Arthur of Boulder; Mrs. Clyde Brown and children of Rustic and Dr. G. E. Bristol of _Evanston, Wyoming."

GRACE

April 12, 1965 Rapid City, S.D. " Mrs. Grace S. Dunmire, 86, will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Presbyterian Church with the Rev. Sylvan Williams officiating. Burial will be at the West Lead Cemetery under direction of McColley's Funeral Home. Mrs. Dunmire died Sunday morning at the Western Nebraska Hospital in Scottsbluff, Neb. She had been visiting a sister, Mrs. Ralph Bristol, of Bayard, Neb. the past three weeks. She had been hospitalized several times during the three week period.
She was born Dec. 8, 1878, at Redfield, Iowa, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sheely. She attended schools there and at Des Moines, Iowa. She was married to George M. Dunmire in 1900 at Redfield, Iowa, and resided there until 1927. In 1934 they moved to Lead and have resided here since. Dunmire died in 1957. Survivors include three sons, Maurice, Lufkin, Joe, Lead, and George, Laramie, and 26 great-grandchildren and sister."
