Her first husband, " The remains of brakeman B. R. Fike, who was run over by the cars to Omaha last Wednesday, were laid to rest in Oakwood cemetery yesterday. Mr. Fike was very popular in railroad circles, and a special coach from Omaha brought about twenty-five to attend the funeral, while about the same number came from Nebraska City and Hiawatha on the regular. While Mr. Fike had never lived here, his death was of peculiar interest to citizens as he was married but a short time since to Miss Reine Davis, former teacher in high school, and daughter of a prominent farmer here, at the same time that Conductor Shroder, then of the same train crew was married to a sister of the bride. Rev. Donegan, who performed the double ceremony, was called on to preach Mr. Fike's funeral just forty days afterwards. The services were held in the Congregational church and were participated in by Rev. Mr. Moulton of the M. E. church, Rev. Donegan of teh Baptist, and Chaplain Diffenbacher.
