December 1899 "One of the happiest events occurred Christmas day at the home of our old friend, John Frost. It was a reunion of the family. All of the children were at home for the first time in about 11 years. There were Prank Frost, wife and children of Frost, Colo.: J. H. Frost and U. M. Frost, wife and children of Gary, Colo.; two daughters - Mrs. Mary Fomeroy and Mrs. Lillian Tidwell of Atwood, with their husbands and children, and Lillian and Sarah Harvey, nieces of Mr. Frost, from Ohio. A grand dinner was prepared by his good wife. The table fairly groaned under its weight of good things - the best in the land. Three generations were seated at the table, Mr. and Mrs. Frost, their children and grand-children. After dinner all were seated in the parlor for the Christmas tree, which was loaded down with a bountiful supply of useful and ornamental presents, and no one was forgotten. "

December 1951 Douglas County, Colorado "Mr. and Mrs. John Lowell, Johnny and Jimmy and Mrs. Ruby Burns spent the week end at the Tom Pomeroy home at Sterling. On Sunday a dinner was given in honor of Tom Pomeroy and his father, whose birthdays are on the same day. Thirty guests were in attendance. The elder Mr. Pomeroy is 91 years old."
