March 1, 1917 "heriff Patterson went to Neola, Ia. today to take charge of E. H. Phillips, for whose arrest two warrants were taken out last week. He is charged mortgaging stock to several people and the desertion of his wife and child. Sheriff Patterson left Sterling immediately after the warrants were taken out and went to Julesburg to find the offender. But Phillips has left Julesburg and a detective agency was charged with the seizing of Phillips. He was arrested In Neola, Ia., while driving a car."

"Edith Healy of Westminster, Colorado, passed away on February 28, 2019, at the age of 90. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter J. Healy Jr. and granddaughter, Karen Diane.
Edith was born on July 9, 1928, on a farm off of 72nd and Sheridan to Edwin and Bessie Phillips. She was the youngest of five children, all of whom have preceded her in death. She attended Union School in Westminster then moved to Denver. She then attended West High School where she was a Drum Majorette and graduated in 1946. After graduation, Edith applied to become a flight attendant but was too tall to get the job! She met the love of her life, Walter, while a Drum Majorette for the Cootie Club Marching Band while he was in the Navy. So began their 38-year marriage.
Edith was a Navy wife and sacrificed almost as much as Walt, making their home in Colorado, Tennessee, California and Washington State. After their retirement from serving our country for 22 years, they moved the family back to Westminster, Colorado in 1969.
She was a hard-working housewife with the patience of a saint. She had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh! She loved unconditionally and was humble and kind.
Edith was a dedicated member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority for 40 plus years. She was a member of the Westminster Elks Ladies Auxiliary. She also enjoyed frequently volunteering as an election judge.
Everyone who met Edith will never forget her beautiful smile and gentle spirit. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends!"

Nichols, at a candlelight ceremony Saturday. The wedding took place at First Methodist Church in Sterling, with the Rev. Vernon K. Hanks officiating. The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a waltz length gown of beige Venice-type lace. She wore a matching hat with pearl bead trimming. Miss Alvena Amea of Sterling was maid of honor, and candle-lighters were Mrs. Tyson Phillips of Cheyenne, Wyo, and Mrs. Dean Nichols. Best man was Dean Nichols, and ushers were Tyson Phillips of Cheyenne, Lyle Wagers and Rowen Kempf of Shickley. The couple will make tneir home in Omaha."
