June 1914 New York " Mrs. Emlie Myra Fitzgibbon, of 850 Napier avenue,
Woodhaven, to-day filed a suit for absolute divorce against Charles Hubert
Fitzgibbon, vaudeville actor, in Justice Aspinall's part of the Supreme Court. Wilma Parks, of Oakland, is named as co-respondent, and is alleged to have traveled all over the country with Fitigibbon as his wife. Mrs. Fitzgibbon says her husband earns a year, and asks $100 a week alimony, and $750 counsel fees. Justice Aspmall reserved decision.
Mrs. Fitzgibbon charges cruel and inhuman treatment. She says they were
married on October 11, 1907, but separated three years later by agreement.
They have one child, Charlotte A. In May of last year, she charges,
her husband struck her, and loosened two teeth. On other occasions,
she says, he created scenes in public places because of what she terms
"insane jealousy". The grounds for the divorce are said to have been
obtained on June 3, when Mrs. Fitzgibbon, in company with two men friends,
visited Henrie Court, at 812-316 West Forty-eighth street where,
she claims, she found the corespondent and her husband in dress that would
indicate undue intimacy. Fitzgibbon said he was willing to give his wife
$50 a week for eleven weeks and $25 a week until the suit is brought to
trial. "
