FLORA'S FAMILY
October 19, 1916 "NANCY E. JONES
was born at Bethana, Mo., September 9, 1862, and died at Willard, Colo., October 6, 1916,
at the age of 54 years and 27 days.
At the age of 16 she united with the Baptist church and continued
her covenant relations with the same the remainder of her life.
She removed with her parents. Henry and Mary Jones, from Missouri to the state of Nebraska in 1865.
Here she was united in marriage to E. L. Harris, December 31, 1882. Seven children were born to them,
all of whom are living. Mrs. Harris came with her husband and family to Willard October 12th, 1910.
She leaves to mourn their loss the husband, E. L. Harris, and the following children:
Homer A., Hattie E. McIntire, Henry M., Ira T., Mary E. Colson. Flora S. Killerlain, Dora M. Lorny,
and a host of sympathizing neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Harris had been a patient sufferer for many years and gladly welcomed the messenger that
bade her home. Funeral services were conducted from the M E. church at Willard on Saturday afternoon
by W. M. Force, and the remains were laid to rest at Prairie Lawn cemetery."

(Possibly her husband "P. R. McDowell, 50, brother-in-law of Mrs. F. B. McKenna, died at the
Mercy hospital In Denver Wednesday morning. Funeral services will be held in Sterling Friday.
Mr. McDowell has visited in
Brush frequently and at the time of his death was a salesman for the Graham Paper company
of Denver. For a number of years he was publisher of the Julesberg Grit-Advocate.
He was also in the newspaper business at Sterling."

"Willard during the year 1919 erected one of the most complete school plants in the state,
at an approximate cost of $30,000. The structure includes not only class rooms, but also a gymnasium
and auditorium, fitting it for use as a community center in the various activities of the dißtrict.
The auditorium will seat about 300 people. It has stage fittings and a course has been enjoyed
during the past year. About 150 pupils were enrolled in 1919. Five teachers are employed.
Two entire townships are included iu the district, and for transporting the children to and from
school six trucks are employed, each with a capacity of about thirty children. M. F. Killerlain is
president of this progressive school board, and F. E. Wattenpaugli secretary.
