They were the first settlers of what is now Sterling CO. Later M.S returned to Grand Junction TN. Over the years the Smith had lost contact with each other and were reunited through genealogy. "

" Reverend Jerome Hunter died at 3:30 yesterday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Heabrook, 1552 Monroe Avenue, of heart trouble. Dr. Hunter, who was 70 years of age, was well known in Memphis, having lived here for the seven years prior to 1919. He came to this city in 1913 as pastor of the Pennsylvania Avenue Methodist Church. After two years he becamo pastor of the Mt Methodist Church and later went to the Parkway Methodlst Church. In 1919 he moved to Grand Junction, Tennessee, and had made his residence there since that time. During the time he was in Memphis he made a multitude of friends snd was well loved by all who knew him, whether members of his congregation or othera. He had the reputation of giving his fullest efforts to his church. Dr. Hunter is survived by his wife, Nrs. Lillian Hunter: by three daughters, Mrs. Resbrook of Memphis, Mrs.a Maurice Wilson of Middleton, Tennessee, and Mrs. Noah Waldrop of Mayfield, Kentucky: and by son 1L EL Hunter of Grand Junction. The remains will be sent to Grand Junction at 4 o'clock tomorrow afternoon for interment."

Jerome's son died in 1941 "Loran D. Hunter, 47, of Hartington, died Tuesday morning, the victim of heart blood clot Mr. Hunter, a world war veteran, is survived by his wife, four sons, three daughters, his parents, Mr. and Mra Jerome Hunter, a brother, Hobart; and a sister, Muy, an of Hartington. Mr. Hunter studied at the University of Nebraska and also at the University of Paris folowing the war. He had been chairman of the Cedar County Agricultural Conservation Commission since 1934. Mr. and Mra F. J. Hoydar and Mr. and Mra. C. H. Merritt plan to attend the funeral services at Coleridge Thursday afternoon. May The deceased waa a nephew -cf Ma Hoydar. end Mra Merritt."
