"Mr. William R. Hopson and Miss Lizzie Jones were married at the church of St. James, at St. Paul, Minnesota, this morning at nine o'clock. A reception will be held this evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. William Murphy, of that city. Mr. Murphy is a cousin of the bride. The latter is the youngest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Jones, of Emmetsburg, who are among the most respected pioneers of our county. She spent most of her life in this city and is in every sense a lady. For a number of years she has been engaged in a large millinery establishment at St. Paul. The groom is a resident of that place. He is, of course, a stranger to our readers. The many friends of the bride in this city join with the Democrat in wishing the newly wedded couple a long and blissful wedded career."

February 1913 Sterling " Mrs. Hopson of 103 Douglass street, has a very beautiful display of art goods on exhibition in the store room window, next door to the First National bank. This exhibit consist* of plush, velvet and other materials. Mrs. Hopson Is teaching art, and the display shows h«r handiwork."

March 1917 "W. R. Hopson, a former resident of Sterling, now living at Persho, S. D., will be a Sterling visitor for several days. Mr. Hopson owns some land about twelve miles from Sterling aud is looking after it during his visit."

March 1917 "A jury in the district court on Tuesday evening returned a verdict in favor of Mrs. Lizzie Hopson and sustaining her charges of desertion and nonsupport brought against her husband, W. R. Hopson, from whom she seeks a divorce. The defendant is now making his home in Woonsocket, S. D., and opposed the proceedings. The couple formerly had a homestead near Willard. The plaintiff was represented by Attorney John R. Coen and the defendant by Attorney John V. Redmond. "

" Funeral services for William R. Hopson, 98, Presho, will be held at the Hofmeister Funeral Home Sunday at 3 p. m. Mr. Hopson, born Oct. 20, 1868, died in a Chamberlain hospital Friday, April 14, 1967. There will be Masonic graveside rites."

" He married Ada Stewart at Redfield, and they moved to Presho in 1910. He joined the Western Star Masonic Lodge in 1917 and held all the offices, including master twice. Survivors include a son, Richard, Portland, Ore. and one daughter, Mrs. Winifred Alldritt, Lexington, Neb. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1949."
