Mr. Hartman attempted to walk to town. The storm came up and the snow blinded his eyes, darkness came on and soon he was off his course. Finally he came to Mr. Rlckart's on his way back to the point from whence be started and decided he would take shelter, for the night. "

Osceola, Nebraska " James Lyons Hartman was born at Des Moines, Iowa May 10th, 1863 and died at Pueblo, following an illness of more than a year, on November 13th, 1939, aged 76 years, 6 months and 3 days.
He came to Folk County, Nebraska with his parents in September 1871. On January 22, 1888, he was married to Polk County to Mary E. Finecy and soon after they moved to Wyoming. His wife preceded him in death in 1901. Three children were born to this union, two sons having preceded their father in death; one in infancy and Wash, who died in 1921. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Forrest Seward of Osceola; four sisters, Mrs. Clara Mickey and Miss Rose Hartman of Osceola; Mrs. Dolly Finecy of Silver and Mrs. Grace Mickey of Omaha. Also three brothers, Winfield of Vancouver, William of Osceola and Scott of Rodunda Beach, Calif. He also leaves one grandchild.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 16th in the Methodist Church at one. Burial will be at the Beulah Cemetery."

There was another Washington Hartman, in Thurston County, Washington, Annie Hartman was the executrix, and she and William Franklin Hartman, who had died in Thurston April 5, 1918, were the only heirs. The court found that left as heirs: Laura Hartman, widow of William Franklin Hartman, Erneet Hartman, son, Hope HrtmanLaura Hartman, and Doris Hartman, daughters.
